Got a glimpse of outside during lunch (whoa, it's still daylight!) and man, the wind looks fierce. No dust storms yet though.

Yep, every year. Usually during monsoon season (End of July until about Mid/End-September) we get these haboobs (or dust storms, but it's more fun to say "Haboob") that roll through about twice a week:

Click the pic for more shots of this one from last year. *These are not my photo's*

However, today they're forecasting lots of dust due to the high winds w/high gusts. :eekdance:

Yeah. Luckily I've never been caught driving in one that bad, but it creates havoc on the highways (much like your blizzards, minus the slippy roads).

kenchan 04-08-2013 03:04 PM

anyone know of any manufactuer or any such thing as a doubledin boombox?

i have a few headunits that ive not been using and want to turn them into small boomboxes i can use in the garage?

i suppose i can make my own since i have a 12v power supply, but just wondering...

yah, ive driven in one back in the late 90's driving through deathvalley. it was very eerie and i could not open my eyes in the wind. the wind was so strong i made sure to park my car against the wind, but then i could not open the door at the gas station until i really put my back in to the coupe's door. :rofl2:

Sounds like you need to patent this idea.

:icon18: i think if china wanted to make something, it would already exist on ebay, but doesn't so i think it is not a very worthy product in mass volume. :icon17: especially when UL is required and so many different HU out there, i dont think they can mass market this and compete with pre-built boom boxes. :D

i found out that my HU pulls max 10A, so i will need to use one of my bigger 12v power supplies . i have these 12v power supplies from my RC car days. i used them as power source for my battery chargers. :D

car audio is great cause it has 4 + sub outs. this way i can place speakers in 4 corners of the garage.

Silly question, but do you all think this will work as well as the Stillen version?
