I will consider doing the rocker-panel and the a-pillars myself  |
So here's my modding logic. I have a crappy Sony xplod 12" sub in the car that sounds decent with a little kicker 400w amp pushing it. I really like alpine type R though, and since I have alpine type r component speakers I want the sub to match. The sub I want is 1000w rms though, which means I would need a bigger amp to run it, which means I would need another amp for my speakers so they could keep up, which means I would probably want to get some 3.5" speakers for the rear, which means I would have to run new wires to the rears, and while I'm at it I might as well just get a 7" touchscreen, which means I'll probably just go ahead and get a backup cam at the same time, which means I'll have to pull the hatch apart to wire it, and since I've got the hatch apart I might as well just install a Z1 foglight while I'm at it, but I'll get the smoked one cause I like white/black contrast which means I'll need to pull my brake lights and smoke them, which means I'll need to do my headlights as well so they can match, which means I should probably do something to my side signals too, but I don't want to start messing with those and not have the front lip and CF hood to set it all off so I'll need to go ahead and buy that as well, which means I'll need to go ahead and buy the wheels and tires I want since I can't be rolling around with stockers when I have all this other stuff, which means I'll need a top of the line alarm system do my shìt doesn't get jacked when I'm rolling through the good. A $250 sub just became like $8000 worth of parts and a week of work.
Fūck. Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new-fangled science stuff |

Installation 3M Clear Bra Paint Protection Tampa, FL this store, i think (but best to check), only sells xpel. but from one of the xpel sponcers of this site, i think he mentioned that the self-heal ones end with a part number with -U. so if you're into that stuff, you can try ordering from autopaintguard. :) one thing to note though, the last xpel i did on my Z's rockers yellowed within 2yrs. it couldve been old stock, not sure. the xpel i did on a dark blue car in the past had no visible yellowing even after 6yrs. |
oh, and one thing to note about clearbra install... it's normal to pull and stretch the bra a tad when doing the bumper. they will be pre-cut a tad shorter on purpose and you pull on it to reach the ends.
after a while, it's easier to just get a generic roll and cut as one applies it, and tuck the ends into the nooks or over the fender or bottom panels. just a fuller, cleaner install that way. |
