The ASWC is very easy to setup, the auto mode, however, is either a hit or miss, try the auto-program first, if you have problem then go with the manual-mode, make sure the "remote" feature on the HU is "On"

Otherwise it won't work... :icon17:

Regarding the old HU, why not putting it in the new Fit?? You use that everyday in Winter, make the ride more enjoyable..

mr.alcheng- thanks, yah, i heard all sorts of aswc problems so im not sure how well it's going to work but will give it shot.

lol @ otherwise it won't work. :bowrofl: hahaha.

yah, im thinking i will pop the old HU in my Fit for the time being and if i still have the urge to get a nav unit, do it later. at least this HU is 'free.' :p i use my smartphone for maps, weather, traffic anyway.

:icon17: Mr.kenchan, don't worry about the ASWC, it works flawlessly after it's programmed...

After I have everything installed, I was setting up the HU and I saw that "Remote On/Off", so I thought since I don't have a remote I can just leave it "off".

Apparently, the ASWC IS the remote... took me a good hour to figure out WTF is going on...!!

:bowrofl::bowrofl:

However, I remember I have to connect a resistor to one of the wire... I can ask my friend see if he remembers what kind of resistor...

Or the "search" should be able to help

mr.alcheng- yah, im not worried about soldering a resistor with the aswc. :) i had to solder 2 resistors on my PAC installs and manually program each of the commands in sequence.

the only benefit i see with the aswc vs pac is that aswc is not HU manufacturer specific (for instance with pac i need to buy one that works with pioneer or sony... kenwood will not work).

i think the commands with the steering controls needs to be manually programmed like PAC unless it'a super popular car like a civic or something. and that's not a big deal for me to program it. :D

I remember they do come with a list of brands, and you just have to choose which one to program and the auto-program will do...

But true, I know it should be a piece of cake to you...:tup:

 unlike the Z, the Fit's stereo comes off with only one screw removed. just lots of pulling and swearing. :icon17:

Guess who still doesn't have a working shower? :ugh2:

At least the wife is pissed now, too, instead of just me. She actually told me this morning "I should have let you fire them when you wanted to back in February." :bowrofl:

At least it's almost Z weather... A few more good rains, and the next 50-degree-day she's coming out of hibernation.
