Took the Z out to dinner tonight..... *Pics*

My wife and I went to King Estate winery for dinner tonight. It's about 15 miles from our house on a twisty country road. The weather was perfect and when I got there I decided to park with a few friends. The Benz is an AMG SL600 Enjoy the pics! The purple/blue flowers is lavender which they also grow there.

Thanks, I wouldn't mind swapping with the other two for a day though. I'd like to hear that V12 rumble! :driving:

Absolutely gorgeous, the scenery that is. Cars are gorgeous too, but nothing can beat nature.

I thought that was Napa Valley, CA or something.

That's one of the reasons I love Oregon. We have all four seasons, and every kind of terrain you could think of.

It cracks me up because, I was asked a few years ago by a girl in NYC if we had Paved roads or Cable TV out here. :bowrofl:

I've traveled all over the world, but I always come back here :D

Pushing_Tin was able to capture some of the Oregon that I think of.

bigaudiofanat 07-14-2009 06:41 PM

You forgot to mention the acura nsx in your post. LOL nice pics though I love it.

StLRedrider 07-14-2009 06:43 PM

Very sweet, it sure is beautiful up there. We have some wineries here also out on a very twisty and dangerous hwy (Hwy94). Thanx again for the pics......

Oregon is a fantastic place to live! Well everything except not being able to pump our own gas, that still drives me insane.

Where else can you live where you can be at the beach in less than an hour and on a world class ski mountain in two?

theDreamer 07-14-2009 06:44 PM

Some weird guy hogging the picture with your Z, can you photoshop him out please? :p

chubbs 07-15-2009 12:43 AM

Nice one PT - That looks a little bit like heaven.

370Z Purist 07-15-2009 01:34 AM

Props to your for your Z, and definite props to your friend with the clean NSX. Beautiful cars. I think it is one of the cars in the world that holds it's value very very well, something like less than 10% depreciation, and tons of appreciation as well.

armensti 07-15-2009 01:41 AM

thats not a sl thats a cl600. big difference

smurfblu13 07-15-2009 01:44 AM

^ you are correct it is a cl

But great pics, that place looks amazing. Your Z looks awesome too! What kind of camera were you using?

My bad, can't say I know a whole lot about MB cars. Was for sure an AMG though.

Just a pocket size Canon digital ELPH SD1100, nothing fancy. Thanks for the compliment though! :tiphat:

370Z Purist 07-15-2009 02:55 AM

Good skill, talent, and an eye for detail and photography is all that's needed to squeeze out great pictures from any camera.

tvfreakazoid 07-15-2009 04:14 AM

Nice! I'm digging the NSX.]

tvfreakazoid 07-15-2009 04:15 AM

WHAT! You guys can't pump your own GAS? Why is that?

370Z Purist 07-15-2009 11:33 AM

People don't have self service gas stations in Oregon.

CBRich 07-15-2009 06:22 PM

Unions?

And that NSX is pure sex. I don't care if the Z outperforms it.

370Z Purist 07-15-2009 09:10 PM

Actually, I don't think the Z can outperform an NSX.

LOL, unions have nothing to do with it. It's supposed to be about "safety," but somehow all other states except NJ are able to fuel their vehicles without blowing themselves up, it's total BS.

These days it's more about the jobs, we have some of the highest unemployment in the nation and eliminating another 10k jobs isn't high on anybody's list.

I don't know actually. It would be close but the Z is way up on HP. That NSX is around 250hp and 210lb ft. Here are some 0-60 and 1/4 mile times I dug up.

1991 Acura NSX 5.8 14.4
1992 Acura NSX 5.6 13.9
1993 Acura NSX 5.6 13.9
1994 Acura NSX 5.3 13.6
1996 Acura NSX 5.2 13.8
1996 Acura NSX-T 5.8 14.3
1997 Acura NSX-T 4.8 13.3
2001 Acura NSX V6 4.5 12.9 (C&D TV 2001)
2002 Acura NSX 4.8 13.4

A quick search shows about a .92 average on the skid pad. Curb weights average around 3000lbs so it would be lighter for sure.

ManicZ 07-15-2009 11:30 PM

I would think that the 2000 - last production models would likely be "close" to outperforming a Z, I suppose. They're pretty hardy cars from what I hear, and the way they're set up, a harder to find mid engined layout, changes the car's feel. I suppose if someone were to run a stock 370Z versus a stock (well, mostly, NSX's are older) 2001-02 NSX might end up with some close numbers. It would be great, but an NSX is an beautiful car, one of my dream cars that's actually affordable (definitely more so than a Ferrari F430, lol).
Sure as hell our Z has a much smaller turning radius thanks to the tiny wheelbase, though lol
