I've been travelling several times a year for 30 years, sometimes internationally. Ms. Gurney has come a long a few times, but it's rare. I usually don't have time to spend much time with her, and rambling around a strange city by yourself isn't that much fun.

I wonder if a Florida girl would really want to go to Chicago in January anyway.

I would suggest you two go out to dinner somewhere nice this weekend and follow that up with another outing when you get back.

Have a safe trip.

Wow! That's pretty sound advice! You're right, its not a vacation. Thanks for the advice!

Oh, and by the way..she would hate the weather!

Yeah, no kidding :bowrofl: I should have said a spa day is perfectly appropriate for an appropriate salary - I can't afford that $hit! :icon17: I agree with Mr. Gurney and think that even a spa day might be a bit much unless you just feel like being very generous. Date nights before and after the trip would be a nice gesture and compromise for the time away.

My wife happens to be in a unique scenario and is 6 months into a job doing the accounting for a firm that takes biz-cations. Very little work is actually accomplished and they often do that over expensive dinners with copious amounts of alcohol. They go to ball games and do lots of tourist type stuff but also do lots off the beaten path. She's already been to Atlanta, DC, New Orleans, and San Diego with San Francisco is scheduled in the spring and Paris in the summer. It's a company that manages Segway tours and bicycle tours in USA and London and Paris.

I wish my business trips were more like that. Though I am looking forward to a point where we have enough money I can go with her on some of these trips

Do you regularly tell her "five more minutes", and it takes quite a bit longer? Happens to me, and she's become pretty used to it. :shakes head:

Going to make a last ditch effort to troubleshoot my primary computer that crapped out on me over the holidays before I spend another $500 on it :shakes head:

As far as she is concerned, I am ALWAYS five minutes behind. She is definitely used to it :icon17:

It's just got to be the motherboard... got new ram and the memory has specific timings. The voltage and everything is supposed to be identical to the old sticks (same module except 4GB vs 8GB). I'm going to clear the cmos and just run it at default (slower) settings to see if we can get it stable. I'm ready to switch to Intel though... idk...
