So that clicking/skipping feeling in the tires when you turn the wheel to the extreme left or right on a cold day is normal right?

kenchan 01-04-2013 02:41 PM

mr.alcheng - yep, as mr.zman mentioned, jpy88.12 is the exchange rate. yen is finally weakening...was 78-79 for the longest time. we need that at around JPY150 to revive japan. then i think more kids will want to buy cars again and put more spark in the jdm car modding industry again. :)

from what i read, kids aren't buying the ft86's... which the car industry was hoping for. middle-aged men in their 40-50's are buying them. wtf...

Nope.

I get weird noises when I am turning and have the wheel all the way to lock. I am usure as to the source and do not worry about it.

It does the same thing to me up here when I'm pulling out of the driveway. It's just the angle of turn overpowering the direction the car is pointed. Nothing to worry about.

If you can feel the car vibrating as you do it though, it might be a tire rubbing a fender liner... Simple fix for that, don't go all the way to the L/R. :icon17:

Wonder if it just had to do with the cold. Started the noise as soon as I started turning to reverse and then back the opposite way. I'll monitor it.

It can be, or if your front tread is really worn down could affect it.

Front was read at 7/32 about two months ago. No way it could rub with stock size either. I'm kinda :icon14:

mr.onzedge- yah, that car needs to be dropped and run wide 18's. but by then it will loose the nimbleness. :icon14:

kenchan 01-04-2013 02:57 PM

ive not had to turn my Z full lock, but usually it's not recommended on any car.

if the steering wheel fell off though, that could be an issue... :icon17:

Then it's the same thing as mine do up here, just because it's cold.

It's the same as understeer on a race track. The cars momentum is overpowering the angle of attack of the wheels. Not a malfunction.

Thank you.

I am stressing out over one of our developers who has been assigned to this project I am leading -- everything I have given her so far is "not in her bailiwick". Hmmm...

How is your day?

That's a dream job. Pass the buck :shakes head:
