when you say 'two different coats of paint' are you referring to the factory two tone paint on the nismo wheels? :confused: i thought one could just sand them a little bit enough for primer to grab, prime it, then shoot the basecoat. :confused:

mr.jar- ive done duplicolor wheel paints on my old dd's wheels and the biggest challenge was getting consistent spray coverage. the issue is, rattle cans tend to loose pressure while you paint unlike air brushes... this makes it harder to get a nice consistent spray & coverage.

for this, i usually set the cans outside in the sun to keep them pretty warm (not hot to the touch as it can explode :icon17: ), set the wheels upright, then spray one coat on one wheel, grab a fresh can for the next wheel, and so on. best to do on a warm 70F - 80F windless day.

the trick that i found is before the last coat, use a very fine sand paper (borderline paper towel might do) and rid all bumpy dust on the paint. then, last coat needs to be a fairly wet coat. light coat ends up dusty and bumpy to the touch. you dont want that. after fully dry, 2 wet coats of clear.

other things to get is a mask and tack towel. :)
