No real challenge. Just takes patience, especially since I modified them.

As you may remember, I created new gun metallic backings by painting some plastic. I let the lacquer gas out for a few weeks, then covered them with ventureshield (clear bra).

I attached the backing plates (which do not completely cover the back of the emblem/extend to the emblems edges) to the emblems with some 3M VHB tape, then completely covered the back of the plate/emblems with the same tape.

When they came from EVO-R, the tape was applied a little hap-hazardly. Nothing that wouldn't hold, but not enough for this OCD patient.

Picture the back of the badge, same outline as the factory hamburger. I layed down the first piece of tape directly down the center of the badge extending past the edges. I then applied additional pieces of tape working my way to the top and bottom of the badge completely covering the back of the badge.

After that, I took an exacto knife with a new blade and trimmed away the excess tape.

To remove the factory emblems, I borrowed ms. gurney's hair dryer and blasted the emblem with hot air for a few minutes. Then using a plastic interior trim tool, I worked the edges of the tool behind the badge (from inside the "circle") and pryed the badge away from the bumper cover.

You can scratch the area inside the emblem inset because it's hidden by the new badge with its backing plate. I slightly marred mine, but it's irrelevant.

I took my dremel and knocked-down the mounting nubs for the OEM badge which aren't required for the new badge.

A little mineral spirits to remove any residue adhesive from the old badge, and then a wipe down with Castrol Super Clean for a clean surface.

After that, it was just making sure I aligned the badge correctly and it was done.

Oh, and that thing isn't going anywhere. When I was setting the rear emblem (first one I did), it just touched the bumper cover and it was tough lifting it to get a perfect alignment.

I recommend doing the rear emblem first since the front one is much more prominant.

Sorry for not taking pictures, but it was a cloudy day, and they wouldn't have been that good anyway.

Nice of mom to take sonny to the tatoo parlor for his birthday. Definitely parent of the year material.

I've got no problem with tatoos, but this kid is way too immature to have been brought there by his obviously over-indulgent excuse for a mother.
