I'm still trying to figure out a video surveillance system for my house... The wiring part is the problem.

mr.gale- the one i use only needs the power wire and the rest is wifi. for the garage i sneaked the wire between the garage door frame gasket and the door. works fine. for the porch, since i have small windows next to the front door, i mounted the camera on the inside window at the top. my porch light comes on automatically at dark so no issue with image quality without night vision.

the other 3 cameras are hidden away on the second floor, and one in the garage with night vision. :p i can see my G and Z right now from my droid even though it is pitch black in the garage. i can see my thermometer and hygrometer too. :p

yah, i dont mind walmart, i just hate the people that shop there... including bearded fat women. :icon14:

they need to put a tax on fatty foods and snacks, give incentives to people that buy fresh produce, lean meats, and non-fatty snacks.. and ofcourse diet-pepsi. :icon17:

So I have ordered a set of continental DWs for the Audi...

Been looking through Continental, Michelin.. there's many other brands like BridgeStone, GoodYear and Yokohama...

Eventually go for the DWs, the overall score is only 0.5~ range with the more $$$ Michelin, and the score on wet is as high with a treadwear of 540, not bad...

nice, mr.alcheng! you'll like the DW's very compliant ride.

did you know i currently run DWS on my FitS? very comfy tires ..with swift springs my car feels very good. i heard they do quite well in snow, so this is actually my winter set.

So the manager looked at my hood and found more damage on the opposite side. Problem is that he's saying it's been repainted. There is a line of this across the other side.

Tell him to get a measurement using a magnetic paint gauge; don't just take his word that its been repainted.

I do shop at Walmart.... :wtf2:

Cos some of their car-care stuffs are cheaper.... like wash-mitt, micro-fiber cloths, wax, cleaning stuffs, and I am talking about good brands...

But I usually go there during after 9:30pm, so I can avoid jam-pack and not-so-sexy-women :icon17:

 on the DWs to you Mr.kenchan... another example of Great Mind Thinks alike..

I was thinking about getting another brands since I am using Continental on the Z, but eventually cannot find anything that can beat the DWs...

I am having GoodYear on the Audi now, going to the shop on next Wed to have the DWs installed, looking forward to test them on the snow this Winter.. :happydance:

For me, I don't store the Z officially. Mainly because I just park it inside the garage, I still waterless-wash it once a while, clean the interior, sit in it a make some "vroom vroom" noise :bowrofl: Seriously, I can take it out for a spin during Feb and Mar if the road is dry and clean and clear.

:tup::tup:

I asked him and he said "the hood is aluminum". Also "our body shop we use has a reader but they are down south at Ford." Wtf?!

The cracking is happening under the clear coat, mainly the cause is the base coats and the white color coats, they didn't heat the coats enough or too thick of each layer of coats.

It's workmanship, whoever did the paint job was rushing it therefore the coating starts cracking after one year.

It will be difficult for you to trace down which shop/dealer did the paint job thus difficult to file a warranty claim.

But you will have to get it fix aka repaint the whole hood otherwise the paint gonna crack through the clear coat and the aluminum hood gets corrosion/oxide then you'll be in big trouble.

honey~~~ :p all my good luck for you on this one... :tiphat:

hummm... bodyshop doesnt have a paint meter? damn...that is f-ed up. it's like asking a carpenter and he doesn't have a stud finder, and saying something like 'i just go by feel, digital tools are for pansies' :icon14:

Pintsize725 11-30-2012 04:17 PM

Ok, guy came out to get a reading and says it's not repainted but looks like a bad polish job.

kenchan 11-30-2012 04:20 PM

the cracks are under the clear coat....detailer can't penetrate the cracks, so i dont think polishing has anything to do with this.

more like bad paint prep, maybe? contamination in the primer or base paint?
