Hi guys. Busy night tonight. Had a class in oil well firefighting. Then the instructor set off some dynamite. Watched my favorite football team win their season opener. Go Cowboys. Now I'm on call for the ambulance.

Mmmm not sure about that one Chris. I'd worry about melting my chest hairs. However when I first joined I did have rollup bunker boots.

Things have really changed in firefighting over the last 20 years. Airmasks with a HUD for monitoring air left. LED lights. Some people even have camera's on thier helmets.

I cruised along side of one on the way home the other day. The LED strips look horrible and will never grow on me.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:09 PM

Still not close. I'm 5'6" and go 250#. But I can make a hole in a wall and squeeze through a wall made to normal specs. Without cutting the studs.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:10 PM

I want to wait to see if I make TSgt next cycle. if I don't... I will be applying.. I need to take A&P1/2 but seeing as how I help my wife with most of A&P2.. I got that in the bag lol

Fire 09-05-2012 11:18 PM

I'd have to say A&P is the hardest part of the course.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:20 PM

Oh actually the Boards are the hardest LOL

Fire 09-05-2012 11:23 PM

Good luck on your promotion also. I was an E4 for 5 years in the Marines. Never busted, no marks in my record. Had the highest promotion score of any E4 in the Marines but they would not promote anybody in my MOS due to them phasing out my plane the A6 Intruder. did also work on F14's FA18's and Harriers.

Bad ass aircraft.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:35 PM

Yup I also did a ground run up of a F4 in full afterburner. Talk about power. You could feel the chains straining to hold it inplace.

That would be cool too. The closest I could get (not being flight line) was watching from near by the guys doing an F-16 run up in a Hush House. It was awesome, I could feel the pressure in my chest and the suction from the intake even though I was 300~ft away.

aalqaedi 09-05-2012 11:38 PM

I installed the 11 piece CF interior

Fire 09-05-2012 11:39 PM

I almost got killed doing a final test of an F14 engine on the back of the aircraft carrier. I tripped and slid towards the opening at the back of the ship. Just caught my heel on a 1inch lip and stopped myself.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:40 PM

Seriously, these monster-sized pictures I post are originally in FB and I do not know how to make them smaller. It would be a big help if someone would point me in the right direction.

If you have MS Office on your pc, when you R click a picture within the direcotory its stored within, you should get an "open with" option for MS Picture Manager. In that app, you can edit photo, then resize photo however you choose. That's just one of a bazillion ways. Let me know if that one is not an option for you.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:41 PM

I also was trapped in the intake of an A6 on the flight deck when an F14 turned pointing it's exhaust right at me. Talk about hot. Luckily it was turning to get on the cat's and was only there for about 15 seconds.

Fire 09-05-2012 11:42 PM
