..Vroom! Nation's fastest road to open in TexasAssociated Press – 4 hrs ago.........SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Motorists, start your engines. It's opening day for the last leg of a Texas toll road with the nation's fastest speed limit.

The final 41-mile stretch of Texas Highway 130 will open Wednesday after three years of construction. The speed limit will be 85 mph.

The toll road is intended to help alleviate the increasingly crowded Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio, which are two of the state's largest metropolitan areas.

The new stretch will be from Mustang Ridge, about 10 miles south of Austin's international airport, to Interstate 10 just east of Seguin. A 50-mile stretch bypassing Austin is already open.

Tolls for personal vehicles displaying an electronic toll tag will be about 15 cents per mile. But no tolls will be collected until Nov. 11.

...

An orgasm that costs about $6.15… good deal

Can someone please explain to me the purpose of a $5000 deductible?!? What's that? You can't? Didn't think so... :icon14:

Yeah, so apparently my wife's new company has the worst fvcking insurance policy available. Facility is going to charge $2K and the Dr costs nearly $3K to do the surgery - just short of our deductible. We just got :owned: Christmas is canceled! :icon17:

That's life.... just gotta roll with the punches. Those low blows are BRUTAL sometimes :rofl2:

When she called me and said $5K deductible, I was literally speechless. I already called our insurance broker, and she found better coverage for no more money with $1500 deductible. I will be switching her over as soon as possible. That corporate policy her company has is complete garbage after looking at it. Guess I should have done that in the first place.

$5000 deductable…??? :icon14:

That's like a policy that pays virtually nothing………

That's like no insurance coverage but have a monthly payment bill.....

No $hit! Her company pays for it, so we're not getting shafted as much as we could have been. But when we get her off that plan, her company will reimburse us for up to the amount they currently pay. And we'll get significantly better coverage.

Sounds like a good plan for you and Mrs.

I always question the intention of 'deductable', if they(insurance) gonna pay… just pay... where they just pay with a deductable, we should have a deductable on our premium…!!!

:tiphat: on the edit.... on my cell phone... and I have to key-in the emoticon.... lol

This sounds like the plan I was on when I had my surgery. Was not company insurance at the time, but at $137/month, it was the best I could afford. I can't remember the full total of my surgery but I'm fairly certain that I paid it all out of pocket and the insurance paid jack ****. Work out a payment plan in advance with the Dr and facility.

I hope your co-worker is doing ok......

The medical system.... either you pay hefty-tax and have a government-covered medical system (like Canada) or you pay less with a on-your-own plan.

However, while medical assessment and surgery is covered by government in here, the cost of medication is not cheap..... :icon14:

For $137/month I might have expected a ridiculous deductible. However, we're in the $350/month range! No way should it be over $2K. But apparently, standard practice in the insurance biz is to assume every female in their early 30s is pregnant :ugh2:

Sorry to hear about your co-worker. I can empathize.

$137 for just me though? Is that $350 just for her?!

Yeah. Like I said: female + early 30s = pregnant = ridiculously high premiums. Mine is $180 for myself with fantastic coverage and $1K deductible (even my out of network coverage pays 80%).

Get a Gov't job. My mom works for the state and has ridiculous coverage that costs almost nothing. You have to get serious emergency treatment before you pay for anything out of pocket.

I know this all too well. Mrs.GaleForce has severe rheumatoid arthritis. She's currently taking a cocktail of drugs (chemo) to help slow it down. The drugs aren't doing anything but making her ill. The next step is the last step as far as medication goes, biologics. When she gets put on this, it will cost a minimum of $25,000/yr and no guarantee that it will work. Hopefully the government will help with the cost, although you usually need to bankrupt yourself trying to pay for these drugs before they offer assistance. :shakes head:
