Prayers needed please
 

I'm pretty out of it right now so my typing might be off or not make sense at times but here it goes. Even though i don't personally know any of you guys, i just need people to talk to at this time. I was sitting in my room playing some Xbox and my mom comes in and tells me that she needs to talk to me. I thought she was going to say something about my dentist appointment that i had earlier today, or something about my teeth not being as good as they could be. She told me to pause when i got a chance so i turned off the Xbox and she started tearing up and telling me she found out that she had breast cancer today. This is hard for me and im constantly having to stop typing because i keep tearing up seeing her how she was. I remember for the past couple of months she has told me that she has been really tired and has had some aches here and there and i told her to go to the doctor and get a check up. She is always busy signing up kids for soccer and when she is not home, she has to stay with my grandma half of the week at her house because she has dementia and cannot live alone. She switches off with the other caregiver so that she can do her work at home and be with us. She kept putting off going to the doctor until last week and today when she went back for results on whatever they did, they confirmed that she had breast cancer. The doctors have no idea how long she has had it or what stage it is in. They are really concerned that it can reach her lungs and other organs. When my mom was telling me this i was paying attention, but i didnt understand what she was saying because i was still trying to comprehend that she did have breast cancer. After she told me, i just had to go take a shower so that she couldnt hear me cry, i didnt want her to see her son crying for her and making her feel worse. All im asking from you guys, even though none of you like i said personally know my mom and i, just keep her in your prayers for me and hope everything goes smoothy and turns out for the best. I'm sure some of you guys can relate to this and know how i really feel right now. This is a real eye opener that someone can be here today, and be gone tomorrow, its just how life is. Never take anyone for granted no matter who they are. Thank you guys and god bless

There is absolutely no shame in a son crying in front of their mother in instances such as this. Do not feel like you will make things worse by it. She needs your support just as much as you need hers. The hardest thing to do is stay positive. Keep your spirits up and things will hopefully come out alright. It is one thing when someone has it and doesn't know. Look at it this way, now they Know what it is, they can start to treat it. Hopefully they can stop it from spreading, or go in and surgically remove it.

I know, i just didnt want her to cry anymore than she was. She knows that she has our support, she always will. I told my friends that im going to be done with soccer for a while so that i can stay with her as much as i can and help her if she needs anything. It's nice to know that my friends, and people like you guys, care and have a good heart. It may not seem like a huge deal to you guys because some of you havent had to go through it or dont personally know my mom, but it is truely a very hurtful situation. We don't have insurance from what my mom has told me in the past, so im going to be selling my toys and my 350z to help pay for her therapy, hopefully she doesn't need it. It's just a waiting game now to see what the doctors say once her catscan is done

Don't go too crazy with selling everything just yet, just take it one step at a time so you don't do something that's not necessary. Especially if you don't have another mode of transportation for yourself...

Brother, stay strong. This is the time for you to step up on your end to support your mother while she goes through a tough time. Many positive results arise from even the most down times and never forget that you're not alone. Think positive and it's completely normal to feel the way you do. You and your family have my support.

I feel for you. Lost my father to cancer and my uncle is currently dying of bladder cancer. Cancer is everywhere these days and is the single most important reason for stem cell research advocacy.

Gosh man, I read your initial post, and my first thought was...oh, my gosh. Bro, I am soo sorry, believe me when I say, I WILL say a prayer for you and your family. Hurt and loss, it all hurts the same, believe me I know.. I lost my brother in Irag in 2004, 6 days from now will be 8 years ago..and it seems just like yesterday.

Brother, stay strong, please you and your mom, please keep your head up, and be there for each other. God bless you man, you and your mother.

Thank you everyone! I will keep you guys updated as soon as i know what the results are this and next week. Whenever you guys get a chance, give your mom a big hug and kiss, tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. It will make her day
