You'll lose the unlimited plan but the new data bucket plans haven't been announced to reveal where they're going to start at.

This is what a lot of people were waiting for so I'd jump on it if not there will be others down the road including the Nexus2 or iPhone5. :ugh2:

Is this phone going to be worth the $100-$200 over the S2?

I can't speak from using it but looking at the comparisons? I would agree it's worth the upgrade.

Now as for folks like me with the Nexus It's not that great to really be needing to upgrade unless it's just to be on the cutting edge. IMO

This isn't true. If you upgrade your phone BEFORE they roll out the new plans then you will be able to keep your unlimited data for another 2 years. You can get the phone at the reduced upgrade price and still keep your unlimited data.

If you don't upgrade your phone by the time they roll out the new data plans, then you will have to buy the phone for full retail price to keep your unlimited data. However, this only applies to people who currently have unlimited data.

If you have Verizon currently with an unlimited data plan and are eligible for an upgrade, I would highly recommend you upgrade soon so you can keep the unlimited data for another 2 years.

My wife has the $30 sero plan which can be upgraded. While she doesn't use the phone much now, but I can see her abusing the crap out of it when our baby comes out. I am thinking about getting her a new phone before the baby arrives. Iphone 5 might be too late, so I am thinking about getting her a S2 or a S3. I figure if the difference is $200, it might be worth it to get the S2

Congrats on the baby!

Well the price of the 16 GB S3 with a new or upgraded contract is only like $200 so may not be that much of a difference in price. Probably like $50-100.

if you wait until verizon has it in store (most likely july 9th) you will lose your unlimited data because verizon will be killing those plans if you upgrade to a subsidized phone. If you preorder the phone now you can keep your unlimited data and still get the phone cheaper with the subsidy. If you wait for the phone to be offered in store you can still keep your unlimited data if you pay full retail for the phone $599-$649.

Only if your not eligible for the upgrade price. If you can preorder at the upgrade ($199) price right now you can keep your unlimited data plan so go ahead and do it
