It would be a characteristic of life in a ghetto or the people who live there.

.....but that's assuming this whole thing makes sense in the first place :icon17:

1. Front of car is lower than back
2. rear visibility in the Z = what visibility; therefore safer to back into spot than back out into traffic.
3. Along with #2, at night it's hard to back out of a spot because I can't see much and have to use side mirrors.
4. how can a parking job even be called "ghetto"
5. only time I would say wtf for a parking job is when somebody tries to back into an angled parking spot :shakes head:

I just use my factory back up camera. I'd rather not try to accidentally scrape my front
end on those cement parking blocks.http://www.crescoconcrete.com/parkingstop.jpg
I've seen so many people eat these things badly.

TerribleONE 02-23-2012 12:16 PM

That's the main reason I back in.. Even without the camera I feel it is easier to judge...

christian370z 02-23-2012 12:19 PM

Is it ghetto? Hardly. I back mine in all the time for the reasons others have stated, it's easier and safer as long as you are proficient in parking in one try.

SS66 02-23-2012 12:48 PM

Not Ghetto at all. It is something everyone should do occasionally. Along with parallel parking and parking in general. All of us have seen some pretty crappy drivers out there with a valid drivers license.

nmjaxx9 02-23-2012 12:51 PM

Im a backer. Especially at places I wanna get the hell out of really fast after Im done, for example, like work. :icon17:

I think its pretentious to back into a spot every time you park. I wouldn't call it ghetto, but it does draw more attention. Personally, I only back in if it's beneficial for me to get out later with less hassle, or at car meets where you want to showcase your car, hence draw attention.

It’s only ghetto when you back in and take up 2 spots.

I have become accustom to backing in due to living in a condo in which a wall blocked my driver side door from opening if I were to park forward. One attempt and done… it actually takes me a couple tries to park forward “just right” and I have been driving for 25 years! Haha!

Whenever I think about it I back in. It's so much safer when pulling out. Plus the back up camera makes it so I don't hit anything behind me.

I really don't get how it's pretentious. Why would backing in draw any more attention than pulling in straight? Perhaps if you were impeding traffic flow, I can see that being an issue...but otherwise....

I always back into my driveway. The damn chin spoiler always scrapes if I park heading in...funny enough, it doesn't if I back into the driveway. In parking lots, it doesn't really matter because I park far away from any other car anyways.
