< son got a copy of battle field 3 with his money. He can play the campaign but he can't play the online part because he's too young. It doesn't even give me a password option to give him permission. Also you need a code to play online and it's limits to 1 profile. I have 4 gold accounts in my house and fully believe that we should all be able use that game

I understand that they are pissed about sales of used games but they have made it too restrictive and lost an avid gamer family as a customer. I hope more gamers follow before EA's practices become mainstream. Right now the rest of the gaming industry is watching to see how EA is effected.

apparently hasn't read that the next gen consoles are probably not going to have a media drive at all for this reason. once you buy a game, it's yours and the only way to "trade it in" will be to sell it back to the company most likely

I've heard of OnLive. I don't know if "pay per play" or subcription based gaming services will be a good thing for the consumer.
