We have a local guy with a R-33 skyline GTS-T (I think that's the model). Registered and state/fed. legal. It's something that can be done, but it's not cheap and will require a lot of paperwork and time.

I wish they would change the laws to be that a car must just meet epa requirements. Most of the safety requirements should be left up to the consumer on whether they want to do them. After all, if you get in an accident and your doors don't comply with standards, you really only hurt yourself.

Insurance companies lawyers and lobbyist are so powerful they caused the reintroduction of numerous timber wolf packs into northern wisconsin (farmland and logging land) to reduce the deer population. now because these wolves are just slaughtering deer and not eating them (the wolves were farmed) the deer population is dangerously low, the state isn't making all the tourist hunter money, raised prices on liscences and now talks a short 2-3 years later about a wolf season....all because multibillion dollar insurance comglamorates thought they could save some chump change with their wolf idea :roll eyes:

Fail

In MD every year, we get a group protesting the annual culling of the deer herd, in spite of the dangerous overpopulation of the animals. Because bambi is cute I guess.

I don't agree with that, if some cheep skate who doesn't care about safety issues buys a car that that gas tank bursts into flames in an accident and I catch fire I would be pissed.

Same goes with wearing a seat belt and accident that could have been walked away from not occupies an ambulance, doctor, icu bed, etc. Now if the police can say to the emergency responders, doctors, etc that he wasn't wearing a seat belt do what you can when you have some time then yeah you can choose not to wear one.

That's the whole reason for making minimum safety standards a requirement for any car to be driven on the open roads.
