Lemers, accept my fwen wekwest so I can invite you to the car club.

I'm loving the game so far, but I agree with the problem of starting you near the end of the grid always.

One of the Gran Turismo games gave you the option to qualify for the race. And while that would take some of the challenge out, it also meant you weren't stuck behind god awful slow cars going into turn 1.

I'm loving the 370z in this game. I drive it as much as I can. I currently have an A-spec 370 and an S-spec 370, and they're both tremendous fun.

Ive yet to get a 370, but I made sure to crash the **** out of the one Cwis made with the club haha.

I didnt see what mods were done to it...but I didnt like it much. Too much HP and not enough handling it seemed to me...

lol then you're not going to like the green nismo I put up there. I suped it up by adding tons of power, but then had to detune it, so I shrunk the wheel width.

It fishtails on the straights if you're not careful :roflpuke2:

Oh, and I believe Cwiz swapped it to an AWD drivetrain and may have thrown a GTR engine in it. AWD might explain the poor handling.

Mmmmm, maybe. Then again, a lot of the tracks in Forza Im completely unfamiliar with, so I need to learn them yet. Tracks like Road America and **** I know but GT5 and Forza's track offerings differ pretty greatly.

For those in the club that like handling over power. Try the 240z and the 300zx I uploaded to the shared garage. They are D and C class respectively.

Bought my copy yesterday but the "wife" won't let me play it.....being married is already having its pitfalls.

I'll be on tonight for sure. Pending my XBox doesn't take 4 hrs to update since it has not been online in quite a while.

The black cherry 370 I uploaded has great handling, too. I tuned that one from stock. It doesn't have all the engine work done on it. It's all about lightweight, better handling, better braking, and faster shifts.

^^

Cool. I'll check it out.

In Forza 3 I almost always upgraded for handling with typically very light engine mods. It seemed to me the optimal upgrade was from the bottom middle of a class (in PI) to the max PI for that class. If you start with a car too close to the max PI for the class, you didn't have enough room for all the adjustable handling mods. On the other hand, if you started too low -- like a car in the middle of the next lower class, it never seemed quite as competitive.

I know the PI assignments have changed somewhat in F4 so maybe the "sweet spot" is somewhere else this time around

I came to a similar conclusion about Forza 3. Getting a middle of the pack vehicle really let you tweak the car as needed. I always had best results going with suspension, tire compound, brakes, and either some weight reduction or light power modifications.

I have had to change my approach somewhat in FM4 because changing tire compound really seems to bumps up the PI level. Well, at least on the 240sx and some of the other low end cars I have been using. I haven't tried one of my higher end cars yet so tire compound may translate to less of a PI change if the game assumes that the starting tires on each car has a different level of grip. :ugh2:

Anyone know if we can import our designs from FM3? If we can, how? I want my 370z design back, but would prefer not to recreate it.
