The wife is jealous

How many of your wives/girlfriend try to tell you that all you care about is your Z?

This morning as I begin washing my beloved Z, my wife comes out side to ask if I would go get some milk for her. I replied that I would when I was done washing my car. She got mad and said " all you care about is that car".

Does this happen to anybody else?

Jasonle 08-17-2011 10:47 PM

Yes! Everyday lol

Jjaden 08-17-2011 10:50 PM

I am very suspicious of both of my girl's 'accidents' regarding my Z.

She has told me many times that she feels like I 'obsess' over the Z and that I spend way too much time on the forums.

It seems very convenient that my Z is always the victim when she has an 'accident' in the driveway, and not one of her vehicles.

tjlazer 08-17-2011 10:55 PM

happens all the time. lol

MC 08-17-2011 11:39 PM

Happens all the time with all the cars I had.

Eric 08-18-2011 07:44 AM

I have learned from 15 years of marriage that they are jealous of anything that draws your attention away from them.

:iagree:

Brutal 370Z 08-18-2011 09:45 AM

My girlfriend already feels that way and I haven't even got the car yet. "All you talk about is that car! I don't care what tint you should do! Don't ask me what colour your brakes should be! I don't even know where the brakes are!"

My wife knows I'm not that shallow. She loves the car (not as much as me).

PW370z 08-18-2011 09:49 AM

I always get "You love that car more than me!" LOL

TonyD 08-18-2011 09:54 AM

Easy solution..... the Z is my wife's car!

(And yes, I wash it with a diaper and obsess about keeping it clean....)

The only problem with this is the wife gets to drive the car:tup:

christian370z 08-18-2011 11:58 AM

My then girlfriend used to say that all the time, but she would never complain if I drove her around either. I have always been a bit self conscious about how much time and effort I put into taking car of my car, if people are around I tend to wait until they are doing something else or are asleep before I clean, sit and stare haha.

eddieconfetti 08-18-2011 05:18 PM

instead of my z, its more about my bike instead.

KingZee 08-18-2011 05:36 PM

My Fiancee gives me sh*t about caring about the car too much all the time...I just laugh...I mean, I probably do care about the car too much.

Just reminder her how the "fiancee" status can change one of two ways.

SPOHN 08-18-2011 05:49 PM

It used to back when I used to date. Now I live for me :driving:

Lucky for me I found a girl who likes cars too. Not as much I do but she loves her sporty fast car (currently has a 2010 camaro ss 6-speed and had a C6 vette in the past), keeps them clean, parks far away to prevent dings at work, etc. She will even get her nicely manicured nails and hands dirty helping me work on the car if I need a hand with something with no complaints. She goes racing with me and races her own car at auto-x and drag. Again, not as obsessive as I am about cars but definitely shares a similar passion.

ClemsonWill 08-19-2011 07:46 AM

My wife used to give me a hard time about the obsession but we've been together long enough now that she has given up. I know when to pay her attention and she knows when to give me time with my car.

No no! This is why I have never taught my wife how to drive a stick. I can only imagine the curb rash after she drives it.

My buddy bought a brand new Charger a few months ago. First thing he did was go out and buy 21" wheels for it (lol.... I know 21"!!!!.....for being that big they actually look alright). Then he tells me it's going to be his wife's car. I just shook my head and said " you going to let her drive it with those wheels. What about curbing them." He just said, "she will be fine."

( Click to show/hide )
Two weeks later he was taking a rim in for repair. But what gets me is, he's still letting her drive it with the wheels. :icon14:

Something similar hapenned to me with my MX5. i ended up divorcing. Run now, trust me it is only going to get worse. Find a woman that appreciates you and your interests.

elvisdonnell 09-12-2011 06:09 AM

Mine definitely has this problem. I told her that if she didn't want me feeling jealous of her love for the kids we'll have, she should feel jealous about this. Didn't go down too well :(.

red6spd 09-12-2011 06:16 AM

Been with my GF for 6 years now and I can honestly say she does not bother me about the car really. She has gotten mad a few times but nothing to bad. P.S I showed her how to drive a stick (not on the Z) and she drives the Z sometimes.

Davey 09-12-2011 06:29 AM

As long as you pretend that they are more important to you convincingly, it really isn't a problem.
