I have to share my concerns with my dealer: team nissan

So monday is when I purchased my brand new Altima "my first nissan and my first new car" My mother came with me to see if we could get a better rate. They said lets see what we can do, and left us sitting there for over 20 minutes. My sales personel came back after checking once again and told me that they told her to just start paper work. So once that was done we meet the Sales manager. The rate was the same no change at all. :shakes head:

Oh well moving on. So we did all the paperwork and sighed the papers. Went outside to get ready to leave. Now Saturday I had asked if I was going to get factory floor mats. Her reply was yes. So when I went out Monday and looked over the car one last time. I got ready to get in and noticed cheap TEAM NISSAN floor mats. So I asked her about it. She said well sorry but it was not on the invoice. So I wanted to drive and they were floor mats so I left "mother already left".

So Tuesday I got a call asking how I enjoyed the car. I told her everything was great just was wondering about the mats. I asked her to talk to the sales manager and see what they could do.

Today I called to ask the sales manager were my tow bar was. "Found out it is optional" so I asked him about the mats. He said that my sales rep told him that that was never promised. I explained that not only I heard what she had said but my friend who was with me as well heard it. He told me to call tomorrow however i did stop in today to talk about the tow hook.

HERE is the thing, While I was waiting for them to check on if the tow hook came with the car or was optional. I was standing by my car by the service garage door. After five minutes of waiting one of the service guys in a brand new Nissan Maxima still in plastic, squealed tires as he came out of the garage than once again going quickly around the corner. This immediately put me in a uncomfortable spot about the dealer. When the sales manager came back, I told him what happened than fallowed with "Is that how you treat customers car" After laughing a bit his reply was "I do not like how you asked that question" He than went on to say that there is no way that would happen because the parts department guy would have taken care of it. I than explained I am not trying to start at a new dealer in a bad way. I just want to be comfortable. He said he understood and he would look into it.

What are my options here?

I mean I can always go to another dealer and start there or I can try this one.

Does anyone here have experience with Team Nissan in Vineland NJ?

I am really nervous and not sure where to go. I really do not want my car to be messed when taken in for service. :icon14:

Also I already emailed nissan themselves a bit ago.

What is the APR rate?

I wouldn't go back there, try to find another dealership to have work done.

I take my car to service stations or do the work myself. Only time I go back to dealers is with recalls or big issues that I can't trust service stations with. If I were you, I wouldn't trust them.

Here they are screwing you over on 120 buck floor mats over a 25k purchase. I wouldn't trust those thieves with anything.

% is 10.09 reasons being lower credit score, first time auto loan, no previous loans.

Anyone have a good nissan dealer around NJ or Delaware? I will only go for oil changes the first few times to a dealer than I usually do them myself.

Finding a good dealership with good people can be very helpful in other ways as well. From the few that I've stopped by, people were helpful. When I bought a new 2010 Maxima last year, I didn't get any floor mats with it either. I just called the dealership up and told them they forgot the floor mats. Drove back there and they had it ready for me.

As far as the "promised" floor mats. NEVER, EVER take a salesman's word-of-mouth promise. Get it in writing. I can't remember what the paper was called when I bought my Celica, but they gave me an official document promising to install their alarm system. I had to get it installed within 30 days, but they did it and everything was cool.

A lot of salesman through bullcrap around like it was candy on Easter. Always get promises in writing.

I'm with you on the concerns over the service department too. Find some place where the techs treat the car like it's their own.

Do you have USAA? Also find a Credit Union the rate are lower than what a dealer can give you.

Also if you plan on doing any mods, try to find one that is ok with it and won't void your warranty. I just asked the service guy at my local dealership and he was fine with it as long as they don't directly cause any problems.

Now if the warranty and car were bought from team will that matter to the new dealer if I do mods and will that dealer honor my warranty?

Not sure about that, you will have to ask. If the new dealer is cool with mods, they will still honor the 3 year/36k miles factory warranty from Nissan. Any factory warranties are good no matter which you dealership you go to. If you got an extended warranty, I'm not sure about that.

Great to hear!
