This is the outcome. Blown top end for sure. Here is a diagram of what the top end came to be like.

Melted isnt the term. But where I pointed the arrows to is where the camshaft sat. It looks like someone took a hot piece of metal and literlaly scraped the **** out of where the cam rested in those dips.
