frost is actually right....he was Chance the gardener....but he misspoke after drinking his first taste of alcohol and the woman in the car heard "Chauncey Gardiner". A man who knew nothing about the outside world...just loved to watch tv and tend to a garden becomes a national hero, of sorts.
