Nope never met him. The "testing" was submitting a profile video and some of my cooking skills. then I dealt with as number of casting agents through email and phone calls, but they went in a different selection after all that over 2 months into the process.

After the 3rd season the show just became too much of a joke for me to bother trying again. I could school these current contestants, not to mention that these ones annoy the piss out of me.

But I still watch the show, that and Top Chef, Kitchen nightmares, the F word, the chopping block, chopped, and Alton and Iron Chef.

I'm a cooking show whore, and honestly cooking is one of the few things I really enjoy doing.

I watch kitchen nightmares on both BBC and American tv, and there are parts I like of both shows.

1st season winner = Didn't take the offer, started selling knives
2nd season winner = Didn't get her contract updated
3rd = same^
4th = although promised an executive chef position, was only given senior chef position

PyroCustoms 08-04-2009 10:47 PM

So BanningZ, Giada De Laurentiis or Rachel Ray?

The original sous chef quit after the 2nd season because she said it was ridiculous taking people who really don't know how to cook and giving them high class chef positions. I think the chick they brought in from waffle house was the final straw.

I would have to agree with you. Although with reality shows, drama sells, they pick the 'right ones' to fit in and help drive the drama, idiocy levels up....ratings....

I watch intervention, although I think it was better in the beginning. I've been trying to watch the spinoff, obsessed, which I actually find more interesting.
