I'm actually a big fan of AZ and NM. I have no allergies there, and the humidity isn't like how it is here. Sometimes AZ and NM gets high humidity, but its not the same. We are classified a rain forest here, and what ever it is that classiffies us that way seems to make anything above 98 degrees, unbearable.

Reminds me of deep south Louisiana. I love that state, but damn you are just wet all of the time in the summer.

they are a lot of work. you have give them a good diet, clean the cage at least 4 times a week and spend quite a bit of time with them. some varities get very upset and pluck all of their feathers out.

smurfblu13 07-31-2009 02:39 AM

well no one wants a nekkid bird. Yea this will be a down the road pet. My main pet I'm getting as soon as I have a house is a wallaby

28 man, but I think I've lived three lives by now.

Just been tired lately. Still a student because I returned to school, and currently can't get a job, besides my rentals, and remodeling to save my life.

Like Tin said, they are a ton of work. If your bird gets sick, imagine the bet bill for a dog X3 easily.

You also have to consider them to be a lifetime commitment.

I use to raise rescue birds. Local vets, and the humane society use to bring me a lot of local riff raff to nurse to an adult age, or back to health.

smurfblu13 07-31-2009 02:44 AM

yea they do sound like a lot and I can imagine vet bills on an exotic animal. Would only seriously consider if I could provide for them and care for it properly. I love animals, so I'm very realistic and responsible when it comes too them.

well they may be good for you once you get settled. a rescue bird can be rewarding, just like a dog from a shelter can be.

what do you want to do ultimately? what kind of jobs have you been looking for in the meantime?
