I'm indifferent at this point. I was all about anything Google made before Chrome came out. Gmail was so much better than any other free email service (& really still is), but Chrome never did anything I couldn't do with Firefox that made me feel I had to switch. I had a T-Mobile G1 & hated it, though I think that was more an HTC (the phone's maker) than Google issue.

I'm interested to see what happens & think competition is rarely a bad thing, but aside from something absolutely groundshaking in the operating system, I doubt I'll be making the switch.

All that said, I (& many others) are paying attention, which is good news for Google in a bad economy.

I definitely favor Google in the scheme of things. With that being said, I do agree Chrome did not do much for me either; I still use Mozilla.

As for the G1, I have the phone and absolutely love it.

X2 for Android.

The Android for the G1 is a very nice OS, I was always a WIN Mobile OS guy, and I've used Symbian, but Android wins, at least on the Mobile level because it actually runs without glitches. Its made for a mobile, not adapted to be mobile.

The Google OS to me is them just taking their mobile OS and bring it up to a larger screen interface. Take the iPhone interface style and put it on a 24" screen basically, would run great and is super light weight. Probably one of the many reasons they will only be bringing this to netbook/touchscreen tablets (such as the Archos line) first.
Other Google products I have enjoyed over the years, Gmail (joined in 05), documents I started using last year, etc. Chrome brought some new heat to the field in web browser but it is to light weight still. Now Google just needs to let the users (such as Firefox does) add a little and it could quickly start taking some market share.

I believe Google's plan, one reason they are bring so many things about of beta (first Chrome now gmail/documents) is to hit the corporate world. To really make it and take on Microsoft you need to get some major support from big companies and not just your home user (home user will just buy what is cheap).
