no worries, we are in the useless thread which requires some drama sometimes to keep us awake

Phelan, stock tires are fine...what wheels are you getting? :pics:

phelan 09-30-2009 11:29 AM

i bit on the SSR Type Fs http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_gara...t+Silver+Paint

http://www.ssr-wheels.com/images/typef/gallery/6.jpg

I like them, not too aggressive, overall clean look...I think it'll suit the car better by the time I'm done w/ all the exterior mods.

Besides, the lobster claws are starting to grow old on me.

^ good call, those are nice wheels!

So, who do you guys suggest for tire mounting and balancing? I've got a firestone, goodyear, and discount tire all close. It looks like firestone charges $120, Goodyear $110, and not sure about discount tire. I plan on getting an alignment as well.

I like firestone for their lifetime (insert service here) options, especially the alignment. That in itself pays off in about 3 alignments (I had 2 done already!)

I used to have a friend at a local firestone that did anything I wanted for free (except inspection). But he doesn't work in the area anymore, got transferred to another store.

I took my front shocks/springs to be swapped with the eibachs to the local goodyear and found out one of my old friends from high-school works there, so I may go see if he can hook me up

Oh Phelan, love the wheel choice!

ya, no matter where I get the wheels and tires mounted, I think firestone will get me for the alignment. I plan on keeping this car for a while!

Good choice phelan.

Caravan, I am no help on your dilemma, I would just find out if there machine can handle larger wheels. Like 24's, that way you know they can't screw up a 19

I don't go anywhere where they won't let me watch them do the mounting. trust me, when the guy knows the owner is right there, he's gonna be careful :roflpuke2:

FuszNissan 09-30-2009 12:24 PM

^^Problem solved.

phelan 09-30-2009 12:24 PM

^ oh so true, i've hawked over the workers on all my previous cars, and they don't mess around working on my car nearly as much as anybody else's :roflpuke2:
