got tied up in tech support for the last 2 and a half hours with my younger brother at his friends house...

turns out his friend has this virus called AlphaAntivirus...its a malware program and it was blocking all of our attempts to download malware removers...it was crazy...i did everything form having them end processes to deleting this program under local drive...

eventually outsmarted it by zipping malwarebytes and emailing it to his computer and installed it from there...

just got off the phone with him and its up to 200 malicious objects and counting :icon17:

once thats done im gonna have him download and install avg antivirus free ed., and ad-aware anniversary ed.

he should be good after that...

yikes! I hate cleaning peoples pc's, it so time consuming and some virus's are evil bastards. I did a repair on one that even with a 4hr wipe in dos it still rear it's ugly head. I had to replace the drive and chucked the old one.
That's why I'm on a Mac, a lot more stable less problems though it's more expensive but less headaches....

supprisingly enough i have been very satisfied with vista ultimate 64-bit sp2...

it seems to be keeping all the crap from infesting my cp along with symantec enterprise edition, malwarebytes, and ad-aware...;)

you like myself and others with Pc troubleshooting know how, are ok it's the very limited knowledge people that have all the problems. most isssue is no anti-virus or firewall and no spam protection.

I think your due to upgrade the reason most of the Pc sold came installed with 32bit in the beginning was the apps weren't there fast forward some years that now that has changed. but you might want to wait for Windows 7 to be released in Oct, it looks very promising.
