Oops my post did sound sarcastic, my b. I absolutely love go karting, hell I made a thread about it lol. I meant the only thing better than go karting is a real car on a track

smurfblu13 08-03-2009 03:43 PM

And after the clarification I'm out for a while I promise lol
:tiphat:

Well it would be more like a full size G37 "simulator". And I like the way you think. Sorry it's all late

frost 08-03-2009 08:15 PM

Reading AK's post on rep, I have to say, I'm a little surprised. When you rep someone, it says "May you be lucky enough to receive reputation in return." I thought that was kind of encouraging us to rep each other back.

BanningZ 08-03-2009 08:21 PM

Don't question it frost. :D

frost 08-03-2009 08:22 PM

No question G. Just pointing out my mild surprise :D

theDreamer 08-03-2009 08:35 PM

Got my car dynoed, check signature for results or my thread for images.

frost 08-03-2009 08:38 PM

that's the stock dyno ... ?

theDreamer 08-03-2009 08:39 PM

Yes, got a baseline done today, should hopefully get my intakes this week (got a tracking number today). Hope to go back this weekend or next Monday.

frost 08-03-2009 08:41 PM

You will be my hero when you post the takeda gains.

theDreamer 08-03-2009 08:43 PM

I am getting worried, seems a lot of people want these numbers, they could come out nice for Takeda and be a good move or they could be absolutely sh1t.

frost 08-03-2009 08:45 PM

people want options other than ripping the front of their car off and covering up their radiator. Even if it was only a couple hp difference, a short pipe intake could really clean house.

theDreamer 08-03-2009 08:50 PM

Very true, and I am one of them, though I kept saying I would go with Stillen but just not up for the work.

BanningZ 08-03-2009 08:51 PM

What are the options and HP differences with an SRI versus a CAI? In my experience, they do make a difference, but it usually isn't much, and there are lots of ways to divert airflow for cooling that can cancel out the negatives of an SRI.

frost 08-03-2009 08:52 PM

Did you see the intake nogood/tin were posting about yesterday? Looked promising, although I have concerns about its filtering ability

What is behind that black strip , above the fangs? Is it removeable, if so, would that help with the heat issue?

PyroCustoms 08-03-2009 08:57 PM

I'm really curious on the gains, I like the sound from their videos. The G37 video they included the fact that it had the HKS exhaust on it, but didn't say anything about one in the 370z, yet they had the same gains (18hp and 20ft/lbs)? Infact their dyno charts are identical.

Don't get me wrong, not hating, just really curious to see the results of the Independence test :) Any end consumer review is more than welcome to further my knowledge and influence into future purchases.

frost 08-03-2009 08:58 PM

Well, the strip and the grill are one piece, so you woldn't have the grill anymore.

theres a thread out there about this subject. I'm not sure where, but I believe people were saying it didn't make a huge difference.

Maybe look to under panels and cooling panels to divert airflow. idk I'm tired and kind of brain dead today.

theDreamer 08-03-2009 09:04 PM

HFC...they give a nice bump in HP but how do they change the sound? I hear some people like them but others do not, just wondering.

CAI: High End Gain, Cooler temps = Denser Air
SRI: Low End Gain, Less travel time = More Air Now

StLRedrider 08-03-2009 09:59 PM

Whats up ya'll

Shunya 08-03-2009 10:11 PM

omgosh! I just woke up from like 15hrs of sleep lol ><
