They took 10 people, and put them in an (huge) abandoned part of LA to simulate post global catastrophe. They only gave them an abandoned warehouse and tools, they had to fend for themselves. Meanwhile they get attacked for supplies, kidnapped, etc. It's an awesome experiment into human psyche because they have gotten to the point where this is treated real. It's like they truely believe this is all happening to them.

One of the guys on the show was able to get clean water by making "ozone" by making his own little tesla coil. Super jealous of that guy's smarts.

winters here can be long and dreary, last winter we had a period of temps in the very low teens. and since we are in the country if the power goes out....

we do have a heat pump, but the wood is free and our fireplace is super clean burning, it heats the whole 2800 sq ft all winter.
