Thats the problem though, everywhere else on the the planet University is for furthering your education and if you are lucky you might find a nice girl.
In this country, its fine to just get a degree because of our social and credential based economy, and otherwise its time to party.

I take my education very seriously, and I have been on honor role and the deans list since I started up again almost 2 years ago.

My first time around in school all I did was party and chase skirt. Wish I had that money back, because my grades suffered and I didn't take a lot away from those classes.

It's just sad to see people kill themselves in school and find out when they graduate that they can't get a job in the field they studied for. just my :twocents:

Yeah I'm with ya on that one. I've dropped a lot of chedda on school, and I have friends with Masters degrees in various fields that are currently jobless.

Hell my fiance has a Bachelors in Interior design, had a position lined up with a design firm after graduation, then the bottom fell out of the housing market, and industrial construction and design came to a halt.

She currently works at Cost Plus: World Market for $8.80/hr.

< I got lucky, because I've got a decent job promoting from within, so after I get my degree, it should pay for itself because I already have a "decent" established job.

I know, I have a few buddies that are engineers that are without jobs, fresh out of college.

Housing got nailed here. Housing sales are through the roof, because you can buy a lot of house for cheap. My house lost big bucks, I'm pissed seeing people move in around me for 200k less than I bought for.

Same with the poor housing. We have so many low income hispanics purchasing houses in the bubble who couldn't end up keeping them. Not their fault though, they were allowed to do it.

Oh, I hear yeah. The banks didn't seem to mind making the loans.

nogoodname 09-01-2009 09:18 PM
