No you use the HKS on the nav factory screen and have the nav on the aftermarket head unit

bigaudiofanat 08-29-2009 10:19 PM

Just going to take a bit of time for me to figure out this video bypass for the factory unit.

Togo 08-29-2009 10:19 PM

Oh I'm following you, yeah thats why i was asking about the two screens.. if i did that i'd just use the nav on the aftermarket unit

I thought you meant just hook the HKS to stock nav and don't add the second screen.. I follow now. :) I guess it all revolves around a video bypass for hte factory nav

bigaudiofanat 08-29-2009 10:21 PM

Well no you would put a regular monitor in your little cubby fiberglass it in and have it hooked up there and still have your aftermarket head unit. and than you just buy your seats later lol.

Here is another question.. asuming you have hte blue tooth you have the microphone in the cabin. now if you switch to the new head unit you need to use a new microphone i'd imagine. anyway to keep the existing one in place and wire it up to the new aftermarket unit instead?

Togo 08-29-2009 10:24 PM

Maybe it would be smarter to just buy the car outright as a base and have them swap out hte seats and door panels on pick up.. this way it's easy to swap out the sound system later on...

bigaudiofanat 08-29-2009 10:26 PM

Yes I can do that to just have to find the wires and integrate them into the new head unit. UNLESS it goes threw a amp of some sort for filter.

You have no idea how much easier that would be for me and probably on your wallet.
