It's made to be addictive like crack but legal.

Stealing this from the sunroof thread. Was thinking of getting a portable GPS (nuvi 755T), really want the traffic updates/alerts, and was thinking of mounting it like jpit has done. Thoughts? If you do not see it, look to the right of the steering wheel.

I'm trying to cut it back before I become diabetic from all the sugar in those things

Those pillars are pretty big already, you might have a horrible blind spot. I catch myself all the time bot being able to see the turn signals of cars in front of me (in the other lane) because of the large pillars. Then, suddenly, I've got a car coming at me.

Good point, I cannot use the normal under the rear view mirror as I have my V1 there and if I put the GPS under that I would completely block out a lot of that view. Maybe I should just put it directly in front of my eyes then on the windshield. GPS should tell me where the cars are right? ;)

quick answer! don't know
I will like to know this also.

theDreamer 08-29-2009 10:59 AM

I think next week I might just order the 755T and try it in different places, take some pictures from the driver seat so you guys can see the angle cuts and how good/bad it is. The GPS might work underneath the V1 in the end without cutting any sight, but who knows until I order it.

Why not mount it in front of you, but low. Kind of behind the gauges. You're mostly listening to it anyway, right?

I don't know if they changed there design, but they made them that way on the 350 to lower the back to be even with the front ride hieght.

simota1 08-29-2009 11:04 AM

^^^ that explains it.... i guess they didnt change the design cuz now the back is lower than the front... ummm is it true that springs need to settle?!? or what ever the height of it right now thats the lowest its gonna get...?

Mostly, but with this one (755T) it provides traffic information so I think I will have to look at it occasionally to see the traffic reports and any changes in route.

Yeah, you need to drive around for a week and let the springs compress and settle to there resting hieght. But I know on my 350 the rear was higher stock so the ibach's made the ride hieght level when I installed them.
