Best state for an automotive enthusiast to live in?
Wanted to know in your opinion guys what state you think would be the best for an automotive enthusiast to live in and why?
|
Not cali because of emisions and crappy expensive gas
|
Georgia is pretty good.
Car scene almost as big as SoCal Lots of great mountain roads Easy access to several road courses within 6 hours driving distance. |
:iagree:
|
Definitely not VA, that state hates driving :p
Maybe Texas since they have high speed limits. |

We have some great scenic twisties including Skyline drive but there are state and local cops everywhere running radar. They also hate tint and will ticket for lous exhausts. |
Texas is very good, downside is you have to travel far usually for the best roads otherwise it is just flat. Though modifying cars, other enthusiasts, etc. are very prominent in Texas and welcome.

most for sure, not North Dakota

Large cities in TX are good.
Only thing that sucks is attending any meets that are larger than local meets (statewide or national). Driving to the TX border from here sucks. |
Arizona is a great state for mods
|
Ive seen that there are a few shops located in arizona but are there any tracks or roads there or around there?

Virginia isn't bad if you are in the southwest. NOVA, Richmond, and the VA Beach area are pretty strict.
I think GA is nice and NC doesn't seem too bad either... what with The Dragon and all... :D |

State of euphoria.
|
Maryland is "meh"
On one hand, people drive a million miles an hour everywhere, so you can speed. On the other hand, there's not too many great driving roads, and everybody drives a million miles an hour everywhere, so you're likely to get cut off and honked at all the time. Oh, and then there's the speed and red light cameras. Ok, MD sucks to drive in. lol |
nodak would be sweet, cheap speeding tickets lotsa of great roads.... but its always cold and no one cool except for me lives here
|
I would say Texas is a good state for car enthusiasts. And we can drive all day in one direction and still be in Texas!:driving: Most of the time they aren't too strict on most things, except the front plate. Which, is probably the biggest downfall for enthusiasts. Other than that I think it is a GREAT state to be in period!:tiphat:

I have to agree with Mike, It's probably GA. Mountains are near by, Ocean is near by, car scene in pretty good, no inspections, etc.
|
FL's pretty good.
