Not to be an ***, but just to be technically correct:

A clip is just that... a clip. A magazine is a spring-loaded container full of lead.

can I just use the "stopping power" perk and be done with it?

Thanks for the link man, a lot of good info in there... and while this thread is going off from the main point, as said above, its not a bad thing..

^ This. There are a lot of gun ranges around me that do rentals. They have a wide array of used handguns behind the counter, you rent them for like $5 on top of their usual range fees and you can go try them out. I'm a huge fan of Glock's pistol design just on technical merits (mostly reliability and simplicity), but I know a few guys who won't shoot them just because they're a horrible fit for their hands, so they shoot HK, Sig, what-have-you.

I really wanted to get a Springfield XD9SC but when I actually went to check it out I found that I hated it. I went home with a Glock 26 instead.

eh....whatever the case is. I am going to get the M&P even though I didn't try it. It is quite a rare kit. Plus, it is like being issued a weapon. You have to get used to it and count on it to save your life. Shitty beretta :p

Although, I am definitely going to look into the XDM40 since I want that too.

The gunshop that is holding the M&P kit has an indoor range and rents guns for $10 while I use my free range usage for buying a "gat" lol

I am looking at spending about $1500 for 3 guns for now...hahaha..I have a M&P MOE AR15 being made with our unit logo.

The sr9c is what I have. I love it, it fits good in my hand. I have a few pics I'd it up in my albums. And $450 brand new with 2 clips I thought was a good deal. I will say that cocking the gun is hard at first till it gets broken in. I'm still trying to get mine to slide more easily. I think it's going to take a few more trips to the shooting range before it loosens up.

Was it $450 OTD? did you buy it locally or online?

it was $450 plus tax, i bought it at Trop Gun Shop they are in Elizabethtown PA. i held a ton of dirrenet guns while i was there.. the guys there were nice and told me a lot about each gun.. they didnt seem to mind explaining all the things that made each gun different to me,(THEY KNEW I WAS GETTING MY FIRST GUN AND DIDNT MAKE FUN OF ME OR NOT WANT TO TALK TO ME BECAUSE I WAS A NEWBI). after about a hour of holding almost every gun they had it came down to the ruger and the glock. in the end i went with the ruger because of how it fit my hand.. but i will say that the glock is a real nice gun, the slide was a lot easier to move and had good balance, but it just didnt fit my hand right, the grip was too short for me, so it felt uncomfortable in my hand.. i will definatly go there again for my next gun once i get used to handeling this one...

hmmm...not bad. So it must've been about $490 OTD. You should check out budsgunshop. Their prices are the best online with free shipping. I have debated about getting it online or local. The shop I am getting it at offers military discount. It might be about a savings of about $10-$30 per gun from getting it online, but at least i'll be able to hold it and I immediately get it. The prices I am offered before tax and other fees are cheaper than online, but TN tax is about 10% yowza! :tiphat:

The Ruger should definitely loosen up a bit once you put more rounds through it.

i hope it does, it is very hard to slide, but it has only been fired 1 time. i will be going to the range more now that the weather is starting to get better..

I would make sure you can put several hundred rounds through it without failure before you rely on it to carry. That's just me. A lot of guns need a break in period before you can really count on them to perform.

eh, does seem high but the cost of living is low. Plus, I hardly buy stuff locally. I am in afghanistan and it is for guns, so i'll spend the extra $10! Plus, I am driving about an hour to and from my town to get the guns, since the kit is sold out everywhere! So I figure to make the trip worthwhile, i'll get more guns! Yeah I was surprised they did do military discounts. They actually have some good price. The bodyguard 380 I was looking at online is about $399. They sell it for $359 with tax and background. So it is about the same. I am just going there for the S&W M&P9. Alhtough for other guns, I am going to look around other shops

oh yes. I will definitely go to the range a lot to release some stress. I am not going to take the gun out of the box and start carrying it! :bowrofl:
