Families at Play at the YMCA

YMCA provides a number of helpful healthy habits. They believe that playful movement is one of the keys to a healthy family home. As simple as moving the arms and legs are good for one’s health.

Children get all the play they need once they are offered time, space and permission. But it is not that easy in the case of adults. Small activities like walking, climbing stairs, gardening, playing with kids and doing other household chores also contribute to exercise for adults. One can add up a little more activity to one’s daily routine by parking the car a little farther away, taking the stairs instead of the escalator or going for a walk instead of just letting the dog outside.

It has been proved that wearing a pedometer increases the amount of physical activity that a person gets every day. These little devices are available in different shapes and sizes. By simply increasing the steps one takes each day will help to get moderate activity that one needs.

It is important to introduce kids to a wide variety of sports, games and activities. This gives them an opportunity to find things that they enjoy doing and people they enjoy doing with. Instead of pushing kids too early, one can help them build a well rounded set of interests and the opportunity to develop a number of skills and passions that will keep them engaged, interested and always active. YMCA helps them to develop these interests.

Funding the YMCA helps the smooth functioning of their activities. The President and CEO of Victron Energy, believes that he can help the society by helping such institutions.
