2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

Infiniti G37 News: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe Debut

Quote:

To merit the IPL badge, the G gets a number of modifications. Under the hood of the IPL G Coupe is a 348-hp version of Infiniti’s high-revving 3.7-liter V-6. Regular G37 coupes get by with 330. In terms of output, the IPL engine is nearly identical to the 350-hp V-6 from Nissan’s NISMO 370Z—both engines make an identical 276 pound-feet of torque at 5200 rpm. A true dual exhaust is fitted (each cylinder bank gets its own exhaust path) that Infiniti claims reduces back pressure some 30 percent over the normal Y-pipe configuration. As in the regular G coupe, buyers can choose a six-speed manual—with a short-throw shifter in the IPL—or a seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters mounted to the steering column.

I want a Z 03-15-2011 01:59 PM

I saw it at a car show, looks much better in person

MC 03-15-2011 02:58 PM

i cant remember the site but i saw a review of it and they road tested it.. it was either slower or equally as fast as the regular car and they said the additional price was outrageous for it

Hi,
I hate it when folks bad mouth a car they know nothing about, don’t own or haven’t even driven one!!!!!

I just traded in my 2010 black cope, 370Z for my new 2011 G37 IPL, AT that being said I love “Z” cars, but to me this car is a “Z” on steroids, on the highway this thing is a beast …

With barely 200 miles on it, I blew the doors off everything on the road from Pa to Newark Delaware!!!

That review from Motortrend was bogus IMO, this car should have never been in with those smaller and almost 400 pound lighter cars, different class altogether, similar to a Nismo!!!

This is a classy car or should I say “a gentleman’s express” as was said!

P.S. Pictures on the way …

Isamu 07-03-2011 05:51 PM

it looks alright...

MC 07-03-2011 08:39 PM

i drove one friday... i went to get this place fixed on my door at the infiniti place... i mentioned had never seen one before so i wanted to sit in the car and they handed me the keys and told me to take it where ever i wanted..... it had 16 miles on it and i took it for about a 10 mile test drive...

and i REALLY liked it.. the exhaust note is great and the styling is very smooth and flowing the body kit is great as it doesnt look added on at all very curvey and a more aggressive look..

im trying to get my dad to trade in his corvette and get it next week... i wouldnt mind borrowing it now and then to drive

but all and all i was really impressed with it i think i would get this over a NISMO 370 if i had the choice... ... although i think the IPL it might look better in black but the interior would be all red and i like the black seats with red stitching better

i just shot this quick vid while i was there to send to my dad

Isamu 07-03-2011 08:44 PM

see, it looks better in the vid..

I like these Vossen CV3's on the IPL. Here's some rolling shot videos:

I disagree with "z on steroids". It's a performance G, and while those are nice, I don't think they're worth the extra cash. Nice car, too pricey imo.

djpathfinder 07-04-2011 11:04 AM

Yup, too expensive for the minimal real world performance enhancement, much like the difference btw the 370z and its Nismo counterpart.

Hi,
Every ones entitled to their opinions, here’s my take on the car.

The G37 IPL from Infiniti is a blend of luxury and performance often time for me impossible to tell where one begins or the other ends, for those whom want a total performance car, where gains in power and speed are important than this is not the car for you ,this is not a 1/4 mile or track car , if you are into total comfort and luxury you won’t be happy with this car either, this is a luxury performance cruiser, that does its best work over 65 MPH and does in comfort and style!

If you do the math:

This car has just about every mod I put into my 370Z not to say cost, labor time and shipping. The major difference IMO is the mods and suspension have been tuned at the factory level giving more balance to the cars gains and overall performance, so you are getting a factory tuner car with all the manufacture mods covered by warranty!

Most of what’s in these packages are included in the IPL!
Navigational package $ 1,850.00
Premium Package $2,900.00
Sport Package $1,900.00
Technology Package $1,200.00
Performance Tire and Wheel Package $650.00
Aerodynamic Package $3,950.00

The Car exterior:
What I love about the outside appearance of this car are the flowing lines unlike some other cars that have a box like appearance, the fit and finish is some of the best I have seen, the lines are so thin where body parts meet, makes you want to look at it as a whole not the parts.

The paint job is amazing this Malbac black is actually three colors, at night and in the dark it looks black in the shade it looks purple wine color in the sun it looks appears to turn into a candy red with metal flake!!
Aerodynamics, Zero-lift front and rear, this allows the tires to grip at speed, this works well.

The wheels, are so attractive and flow so well with this car that even though I love the way 20" Vossen VVS-CV3 Concave Wheels / Rims look on it , I would have to wait till these rims wore out or had to have them replaced before I would even consider a third party stuff on this car.

The interior and performance in part two…

Thanks Alex

Add on’s:

Optional
Midnight Black Grille makes a big difference IMO.
Wheel locks

Infiniti vale stem covers.

Illuminated kick plates.

Trunk mat

Trunk net

Rubber floor mats

First aid kit

The car is garage kept but I still have a car cover on the way…

EYE ESS 07-07-2011 07:51 AM

I'm not a fan, I feel that they overpriced this car. If someone was serious about performance they would buy the base model car and add the mods that they feel would add more pep to their step.

Brutal 370Z 07-07-2011 08:17 AM

i seriously considered this car before ordering my z. in fact, if i didn't already have a G37, i would have got this over the Z. I just figured i would change it up. great choice bro!
