Ipad 2 worth the hype? Whose getting one?

Doesn't seem like enough to upgrade for, but I am thinking about getting one for me and handing mine down instead of buying a refurb or used for $580, just $800 for a new one so $220 more and I get a new one, and everyone else gets an upgrade, or if I get a 16GB WiFi save another $100 (but complicate everything).

havent really bought into the idea of a tablet yet... its a big smart phone that cant make calls... everyone has different needs but i have a desktop a droidX and a laptop....so for me it doesnt fit... i guess if i didnt have a laptop or was on the go maybe it would make more sense...but for my lifestlye its a waste

and even if i did wouldnt be apple... 6 -8 months from now the ipad3 will be out and make you feel like you just bought a piece of ****..... then the ipad4 will do the same... and it doesnt run flash right?

i just feel apple gets you in this never ending buying cycle

i would love to get one. my company offers me any ipad at 250$ off retail.

but ive been spending money on the car.

I dont care that its a apple, etc etc. I just fly out of town and back in every week. A tablet is perfect for airplanes.

my 17.3" laptop is good big, the iphone too small. Ipad = perfect and I have top gear for Itunes already!

I would need the 64gb version. i was hoping they would have sdcard in this ipad 2.

Also rumors are that ipad 3 later this year (end) if people can wait.

I'll wait for iPad3...not enough improvements with iPad2 to warrant a jump. Besides, I have a MacPro, MacBookPro and iPhone 3Gs already. Don't have any use for an iPad at this time, other than for playing.

I think the tablet is great for some. I can definitely see myself buying one in a few years, but just don't have the necessity for it right now. I heard the iPad 3 will have the retina display, which the iPad 2 does not offer.

My iPad 1 is awesome. It's so light and perfect for this forum hehe. I'm using it right Now. For you droid users, you can tell your phone to act as a 3G Wi-Fi hotspot for the tablet to connect to and get internet anywhere (or pay $15-25/month for iPad 3G access).

The new iPad is cool, but not crazy enough to get me to upgrade.

The reliability and UI of this is way better than Android OS and the quality of applications is unmatched.

I'll be in line, just like I was for the iPhone4, iPad1, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G (I was 2 days late to the party on the iPhone 2G).

A) I'm a sucker for shiny new toys
B) Having facetime/skype on the iPad is going to rock (I have family in Europe that I don't see very often [1/year])
C) The misses wants mine, so it gives me an excuse to upgrade :)

I have a 32 GB wifi iPad that I use around the house for web surfing... that's really it. So I don't know if it will be worth it to upgrade.

Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 Honeycomb blow the Itrash2 away. Clearly this person is a fanboy......and.....THE APPLICATIONS BETWEEN ANDROID AND APPLE ARE IDENTICAL AND MADE BY THE SAME DEVELOPERS.......only difeerence is the UI.

they dont blow the ipad away.

Ive been telling fanboys of both sides that they are built for different markets.

Apple products are very good for people who dont really have a clue about tech / software and just want a smooth functioning, no hassle product with everything integrated so they dont have to go anywhere.

Android stuff these days is still being purchased more by the techies, the tinkerers etc.

Thats a result of apple locking down their OS/UI and keeping developers in check.

Android yes is definitely more open, and while SOME of the apps are developed the same, you have alot of bad apps to filter through on the andriod as there is no real checks on them.

Also android market is not a good market for developer who want to make money. many of them have complained that android users simply dont like to pay for apps. Thus again leading to the type of buyer (techies, tinkerers etc)

For anyone who owns the first gen it really is not a huge upgrade. Only reason I am buying the new one is because I am a tech geek and a co-worker is buying my first gen which will help cover some of the costs of the purchase.
