A GPS can get you a ticket in VA!

The only state that you not allow to have a radar detector! :shakes head:

NOW, you can get a ticket for having a GPS affixed to your windshield...
99% of GPS are designed to be affixed to the windshield.

I could not believe this when I saw it in the evening News, I thought I was dreaming.

I need to get the F*CK out of here!

front plates too... damn its gettin serious in VA..hope it doesnt trickle down to NC ..altough we already have a BS law about you cant have license plate frame that covers any of the state lettering...( which covers all good aftermarket frames)

Hrmm if you have it in your windshield, you can use peripheral vision on the road while you look at it. Place it somewhere else and you can't. thats effin stupid.

Everyone in VA should remove their rear view mirrors too, thats obstructing your view.

OR if you mount it high, ask the officer what road goes curves up really fast that if you look at the area above the rear view mirror, its blocking the view of the road...

gah. stupidity.

You are right! With your head straight your still have a 20 angle of peripherical vision on both sides. An with your head slightly turn about 150 angle of your peripherical vision.

Some this lawmakers need to take a few college classes!

In frickin' believable. What else can you say.

Nanny state! I think law makers just need to make it seem like they are doing stuff, only their busy work makes the lives of drivers even worse. You VA guys are definitely dealing with a step above what us Cali residents deal with!

If things keep going this way soon you will be able to get a ticket for driving with the motor running.

NJ is the same way, its obstruction of view. Its not enforced but when you get stopped for no apparent reason and you're drunk or got warrents they'll use that.

So, So SO glad I don't live there anymore. F%ck VA and their insane taxes and rediculous laws.:shakes head:

ThoriumHotdog 01-29-2011 02:56 AM

I applaud their creative solution to budget shortfalls.

Lemers 01-29-2011 08:00 AM

Glad I got the in dash nav. But that will be next to be illegal.

VABAM 01-29-2011 10:58 AM

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it isn't blocking your vision. News agency making something out of nothing. Some people put those things on the windshield right in their field of vision like the guy doing the report in the link. You should be fine if it is very low or very high on your wind shield.

I thought Virginia was a Conservative southern state? This kind of thing doesn't happen up here among the New England Liberal Commie Ivy League Socialist Elite.
