Home theater is my other hobby ranking 2nd obviously behind my Z... Just wondering how many others are out there on the forum with home theater being an interest. Love this Klipsch system... I live in a townhouse and used to have a different setup with a massive Klipsch sub12 but could never enjoy my setup or my neighbors would get pissed so I went with these Icons. They usually retail for about $4500 and I paid around $1300 for the five speakers brand new! No need for a sub because the left and right floorstanders have built in subs that provide the bass (they are the 2 oval racetrack shaped woofers located on each speaker). They don't provide as deep of bass as the sub did but they still hit pretty hard in my small of space and I don't have to worry about turning it down all the time. Here are a few pics of my setup which includes:

XF-48 Home Theater System - Overview

nice setup. i would show mine but its also my bedroom and thus dirty!

but.. its a:

Onkyo HT-RC260
Polk Audio R300 x 4 (fronts and backs)
Polk Audio M60 x 2 (sides)
my center speaker blew out so im using some old junk atm! : (
Got my ps3, Directv, and laptop all connected to it, with the output being able to go to the TV or my 27" asus monitor on my desk.

With the 2 zone onkyo, when i use my laptop i can also switch to B speakers which are located on the sides of my desk.

I wanted klipsch speakers, infact i got a set on sale last year, but ended up selling it for about 100 more than i paid. shoulda kept em. : (

It's not a home theater if it has windows. ;)

This is the current setup until I move into a house and move some of the hardware down the basement:
  • TV: 46" Sharp Aquos
  • Front: Klipsch RF-82
  • Center: HSU
  • Rear: HSU Bookshelf
  • Sub: HSU VTF-3
  • AMP: Emotiva LPA-1

The Klipsch speakers are awesome! The center and surround HSU speakers aren't that great, so it will be replaced with matching Klipsch speakers. However, the HSU VTF-3 sub is awesome for the money so it is definitely a keeper. The LPA-1 amp is plenty powerful and sounds great for the money, and I'm only using 5 channels at the moment. It is connected to an Auzentech X-Fi Prelude sound card.

Here is my setup (will post pics later):

Living Room:
Sharp Aquos 52" LED LCD
Harman/Kardon AVR 445
JBL Venue Stadium floor speakers (2)
JBL Venue Voice center speaker (1)
JBL SP6CSII In-Ceiling (4)
JBL Venue Sub 10 (1)
PS3 for gaming and Blu-Ray

I have a first floor that is all open and my set up fills the entire area with sound. Action movies rumble the wood floor below. I would say the weak point is my center speaker, but a bigger one will not fit in the entertainment center. Also, the 4 surround speakers are two way, something that I didn't know enough about when I bought them and was building the house. Not sure if I should replace them down the road.
