Getting ready to hibernate my tortoises. They go into the garage fridge (4 males and 5 females) for three months. During this time the temperature is at 40 defrees f and they do not eat, drink or really move. The picture is the individual boxes that they will be in for the next three months.

Basically she didnt dig down deep enough during a wild fire.) |
Those are awesome!
I think it's so cool that you have to artificially hibernate them come winter... that's so nifty! |

I x-rayed my tortoises today like i do every year to make sure none of the females are holding eggs before they go into hibernation and this is what i found.

Thanks jeff :) idk if it's a matter of just being slow, lol, but that little box took me an hour and a half to make lol, it's alllll custom ;) lol i found a box and cut it up a a lot of times and came out to be a pretty nice 2nd home for him... i had done some research and a lot of people say it's good for them to have two hiding places, more secure or something like that, so i decided to make a lil project :D
omg so as i was typing this i look over and he's in it! i think he likes his new homeee http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/x...0/IMG_0599.jpg p.s. yes that's a red light, it's sleepy time haha |
My wife picked up a female Panther Chameleon for future breeding endeavors with our blue male (and for a cute pet).
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/DSC01508.jpg She's around 6 months old - we bought her locally after watching her grow up at our favorite local exotic pet shop ... been watching her grow since she was the size of a peanut M&M. :) She's a Blue-Barred Ambilobe variety so we're hoping to produce some hybrids that are orange/red + green with blue/purple bars. It's definitely the most popular hybrid combination! |
holy...crap...she's beautiful!!! nice pick up dude, shes awesome
