Grammar Police On Full Alert
The following will be a list of common grammar and spelling issues I've seen on this site. Making these mistakes can result in someone completely disregarding the intent of your post and going for the grammar card. Keep these police off your back with these helpful hints.
Feel free to add your own and I'll add it to the list. WRONG: I would of done it differently. RIGHT: I would HAVE done it differently. WRONG: The tech was such a looser. RIGHT: The tech was such a LOSER. WRONG: It was rediculous. RIGHT: It was RIDICULOUS. WRONG: I want a big break kit. RIGHT: I want a big BRAKE kit. WRONG: It could brake in half. RIGHT: It could BREAK in half. WRONG: It was there fault. RIGHT: It was THEIR fault. WRONG: It's right their. RIGHT: It's right THERE. WRONG: See what there doing. RIGHT: See what THEY'RE doing. WRONG: Your in danger. RIGHT: YOU'RE in danger. WRONG: It's you're fault. RIGHT: It's YOUR fault. WRONG: Owning a 370 has effected my life for the better. RIGHT: Owning a 370 has AFFECTED my life for the better. WRONG: After driving my Z I had to lay down. RIGHT: After driving my Z I had to lie down. TOO: In addition; also TWO: The cardinal number equal to the sum of 1 + 1 TO: In a direction toward so as to reach . . . .Reaching as far as |
"WRONG: I want a big break kit.
RIGHT: I want a big BRAKE kit." I'm not sure about this one. Perhaps they want something that will break their car in a big way. |
You guys do the good job at the spelling and grammar. Maybe you guys go to do the teacher job.

Affect = Verb. "Knowing how to properly use grammar will affect in my life for the better."

Wrong: Who actually cares?
Right: Who actually FU€K'N cares? |
I care, mildly.

WRONG: shadoquad's lawyers did good getting him acquitted by pointing out that goats can't legally deny consent in MD.
RIGHT: shadoquad did well in selecting lawyers with absolutely zero moral compunctions. |
