How did That happen where online is different?

Idk why online is diff, its weird. But online the cars feel way more slippery. If I remember when I get home ill post my s13 drift tune for ya:tup:

Zaggeron 08-23-2012 01:09 PM

Part of why online is different is because of the "progressive" physics employed in the single player campaign. Running a race in the lower groups uses much more forgiving physics than in the latter/expert groups. Part of the effort to ramp up the difficulty in a progressive fashion.

That and partly because of lag -- even a fraction of a second delay in correction makes a difference to how the car handles and if some steering input has to round trip between server and client that can account for some of the handling differences.

I want more cars. They're pretty slow with DLC content. I also wish they would unlock more upgrade options for cars like the Z. How is there no turbo upgrades or a Nismo Version?!

I heard a rumor that we wont really be seeing anymore DLC due to the development of GT6. But then again I also heard that the creator swears we will get more DLC so who knows. It is pretty lame the amount of DLC they have offered.

ZMAN, here is my premium S13 drift setup. Now, this is what works for me. Dif people have dif styles so Im not sure this will be perfect for you but should at very least give you a good starting point in making the car comfy for ya. First off, install ALL available mods EXCEPT the chassis re-enforcement amd dont add any kind of spoiler. Some higher pp drift cars benefit from a spoiler but the S13 is not in need of one. I also use the stage 3 turbo. The most important part of the setup is the suspension settings, naturally. They are as follows.

Ride height: -20 front and rear
Spring rate: 5.7 front 4.8 rear
Dampers (extension & compression) set all to 2
Anti roll bars: 1 front 2 rear
Camber: 2.7 front 1.3 rear
Toe: .08 front .11 rear ( as Im looking at this I think the car would def benefit from using neg toe in the front, not sure why I have it positive. I would try -.06 to -.08 in front.

Differential: set all to 60

Transmission: I have the trans set to 155 on this car but usually set my drift transmissions to 174mph. Try something in between there. Bigger tracks require a higher trans so your 2nd and 3rd gear last longer, those are the 2 gears Im usually in while drifting.

Brake bias: Try 4 front 7 rear. More braking toward the rear is gonna make it easier to kick the azz out using the normal brakes.

Use comfort hard tires.

Best advice I can give is that you really have to feather and be aware of your foots input on the gas pedal. Its all about finesse. When Im in a drift Ill be BARELY applying throttle a lot of the time. It took me awhile to master drifting but once you do its very, very fun, especially on a wheel setup:tup:

:iagree: and not more version of the gtr or race cars. They Should update current modifications you Can make to cars and add more.features. create a few new tracks. And put 20-50 cars of various types that dont already exist.

Wow thanks ill try that :tiphat: I will Rep You when I get computer access.

So what youre saying is a spoiler will hurt performance on the s13 or its just useless upgrade that's waste of credits?

"Standard" cars really piss me off in general. They look like crap and makes me not want to play the game. It took them over half a decade to make this game for God's sake. Having nicely rendered cars and access to them without going through the "used car" BS isn't too much to ask for. I mean come on, the Veyron didn't even make the cut.

The spoilers generally give the car too much grip in the rear. You want your tires to be breaking loose as much as possible, after all this is drifting. Some of the cars w high pp require the spoiler thought to add some control to the car. For example, I use it on my Viper drift car.

have any of you done the Nurburgring Time Trial with the Tuned 370Z from GT Academy? I can't get even close to Gold, what setups are optimal for the Nurburgring?

yeah man it was tough took me about an hour to get gold. i ended up with like a 7:47.5 or something just barely gold but i didnt use any type of tuning really i just upped the downforce to 15/35 and then put the camber at about -2. i could have gotten a bit lower but that damn car frustrates me too much. its twitchy then snaps into understeer. its hard to get a clean lap driving 10/10ths with it.. you have to baby it to get a non red lap

i had the weight reduction to stage 3 but in order to make 513pp i had to lower the power too much so i added weight back to it to pretty much undo the weight reduction

but yeah it took me a while i had to keep chasing my ghost and shave a few seconds at a time off

there are some tunes here they some are having luck with

GT Academy Prize Car Seasonal - Page 46 - GTPlanet Forums

the race was kinda hard too and i had full weight and power stage 3.. no matter how hard i drove it i was always 4 secs off the #1 car and had to brake insanely late after the final stretch and pass the car in the final two turns

:tiphat: I feel like the "tuned" version is harder to control than the regular version. Had the same issue in the 8th part of GT Academy. I played with all kinds of suspension setting on it and that thing is just too prone to spin. I'm currently using -2 camber front and -1.2 rear but perhaps more camber is needed in the rear. I don't have any power/weight mods seeing as my car with an oil change was over the 413 pp. only successful run i did (so far im 1/10 for getting a full lap in without invalidating) I was 40 sec behind gold :ugh2:

MC 09-04-2012 07:54 PM

yeah the car to me is one of the worst handling cars in the game i was frustrated on round 8 aswell with it.. it just would not do what you were wanting it to do input wise.

I do a lot of laps on the ring and my first lap i didnt have a ghost so no way of knowing how fast or slow i was and i thought i was going to gold my first lap. I ended up with like a 8:01. so then i knew i had to put in some work

try putting active steering on strong and bumping the traction control up a bit. I think when i ran my gold run even i had TC on 3-4 and i usually run traction control totally off
it really doesnt interfere too bad just as long as ASM is off

i also used the bumper cam view. usually i run cockpit camera for my racing rig but when i need every single tenth to count sometimes i find i can do better with the bumper cam and just seeing on the screen gauges

you can get it just keep at it

Yep on the nurburgring bumper view is much easier because of the narrow course with elevation changes/blind corners. I Tried few more times, still not there yet. Seems like I'm not pushing the car enough/braking too early and much
