Best race before was 2nd place ~3.5 behind the leader. This last race I passed the leader at the apex of the corner before the back straight.

edit: Sweet! I won the Gran Turismo Ford GT LM Spec II Test car with my lev 22 ticket!

Nice, glad to help.

I started out with a Honda EK Hatch to build up my experience/funds and have been using the Xanavi Super GT Z lately more than anything else.

Nice! I wouldn't mind building one for the track myself.

You won't start out with much money in the game IIRC so the EK hatch or a Miata will be your best bet.

I think I rocked the Mini Pooper first then my second car was a 370, naturally. You wont regret the purchase. The graphics are sick. I spend hours in photo mode alone.

MC 06-14-2011 12:18 AM

ok i got 2nd on all the races but the STI... i need some set up advice on it

I won both the Fiat and Lotus events over this past weekend. I just started the STi event and placed 3rd after 3 tries.

You can also start off by doing the license test first. You'll win a prize car to start the game.

B License Gold: TommyKaira ZZ-S '00 (S) *plus silver and bronze prizes
B License Silver: Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept '07 (P) *plus bronze prize
B License Bronze: Mazda Demio Sport '03 (S)

Alchemy 06-14-2011 07:15 AM

Ill take a look at that STI after work and get a tune dialed in to win that race. I hate AWD, biggest prob is gonna b conquering the understeer!

If I recall correctly you need to buy a car before you can do the license tests ... even though you won't use that car in the tests.

I'm using the DS3 controller. I need a wheel.

With the settings that used I had no problem driving the Lotus hard although I needed to feather the throttle coming out of corners so the rear wouldn't break loose. These settings suited my driving style.

Man raced that STI race many times and couldnt get first. Always 1-2 sec off. Mainly because I would have to pass an opponent at a bad spot and it slowed me down. Frustrating.

Don't forget to also do some B spec racing (where you give simple instructions to your AI racer). There are plenty of good prize cars in B spec and some that will be very useful in the A Spec races.

Eric 06-17-2011 06:14 AM

Isamu, add me if you want. I'll send you a brand new 370Z if you would like.

You race online much Eric?

I've done my fair share of online racing. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to race in an leagues but I do enjoy racing other people when I have the time.

Half the problem with online racing is that a lot of people (probably kids) don't know how to race. It's aggravating when you try to make a clean pass on someone and they purposely ram into you to prevent the pass. That's no fun.

I actually prefer keeping most of my cars mostly in their stock form with either some very mild modifications and sport soft tires.

That's right.

I got tired of over tuning every car that I owned just to make it undrivable. Plus, the seasonal events are much more enjoyable when you earn the win. It's no fun wining the race on the first lap.

I do seasonals and stuff but Im pretty much an online racer so my cars need to be tuned. Defininatly need my racing soft tyres too. One of my fav things to do on GT is tune, I love it.

If you search a little bit you can usually find 450-550 pp rooms running sport softs. Tune and setup is especially important in those sorts of races and, frankly, you'll find more clean and fun racing than your typically "max 900 HP" room

I never run in high pp or hp rooms. Usually keep it 5-600 at the highest. I cant get on board with anything but racing tyres, sorry I like my grip. Comfort hard for drift or gymkhana though. I run w some pretty good racers and we are all about keepin it clean. I usually host so I make sure nobody is clownin around. My PSN is InebriHATED, anyone looking for good clean races add me.
