Who's into RC gear? Post up your toys.

I have an Associated B4 team buggy, with Mamba Max, Lipo, and Hitec radio gear.

I also have a few planes too, I first started with a Super Cub fun plane got good at it so I thought I could do the Parkzone Spitfire that lasted about 10 seconds. Then I got a Cesna 182 that lasted about 60 seconds, now I am still waiting for parts to repair them.:shakes head:

RC is fun but gets expensive quick when your learning, I should have gone to an airfield and learned properly but hey I never do anything the easy way.:p

The savage was a fun rig, my neighbour has one. I also have a ClodBuster, remember that one?

I use to be sponsored by Tamiya back in 1988... and raced heavily in off road.

I also collected vintage tamiya. You can see all my cars here:

Too bad I loved that car, is the new one anygood? I want a B44 with a top end brushless/lipo setup.

But then I bought a Z and the RC has not been touched since.:worship:

I have a TC3 and Traxxas Nitro Rustler collecting dust on my shelf.

wgw370z 09-03-2010 10:28 PM

I have a Traxxas Nitro Rustler collecting dust too. This year I got into helicopters. A whole new dimension of R/C. Here are my birds:

Wait till you get into larger helis, like .50 - .90 sized ones...thattakes it to a whole new level! Unfortunately, the Z and mods this year are $$$ and I can't sustain both the Z and the helis at this time...might get back into helis next summer.

Cmike2780 09-03-2010 10:47 PM

I almost forgot I had a heli. I bought an Axe CP a while back.. couldn't get the hang of the controls and its been wall decoration ever since. Couldn't keep it flying for more than 20 seconds without crashing.

djpathfinder 09-03-2010 11:55 PM

An RC flight sim is a new heli pilot's best investment. I spent about 12 hrs on one before I flew my first heli (TRex450) for the first time. Saves you a lot of money and wrench time.

Those flight sims look really cool best way to learn a new system IMO

If I was smart I would learn to fly with one, but I like the hard way.

Yep, training gear too. I have Phoenix, works great with my controller. My second attempt at hovering the real deal resulted in about $100 in repairs. Built some training gear and I haven't broke anything in 20 or so battery packs. I spend alot of time in the simulator too. It's getting easier, just taking me a long time to get it down.

I hear the bigger helicopters are eaiser to fly, but when they crash, it gets real expensive, real fast.

Yup, it's like balancing a broom stick on your finger tip is easier to do than balancing a pencil...the broom stick requires slower and less adjustments. The little helis are just less stable...the smaller the are, the twitchier. They are more easily affected by wind too.
