Found my project car

Well I just happened to be over at a friend house studying and I never really looked in his driveway. I did today and noticed a 1994 Mercury Capri XR2 for practically nothing he will sell it to me. has like 120,000 miles on it and I think I am going to take it. We are going to clean it up and see how she runs before I make a deal. Take a look! I know not a z but for 500 bucks or so I think I will take it.

It looks like it's been sitting since 1995

bigaudiofanat 08-01-2010 02:37 PM

Looks in good shape. Don't see those too often.

fairladyZ34 08-01-2010 03:37 PM

m4a1mustang 08-01-2010 03:39 PM

Slap a 5 liter from a donor fox body Mustang in the thing. :D

:iagree:

I would repaint it, too. Get that 1990s blue off that thang!

I'm dead serious when I say that the right color (probably black or a dark metallic gray of sorts) coupled with the right wheels would look pretty good.

Wrap the interior in leather or alcantara so it feels more upscale, cram a Ford 302 or a Chevy LSX in there and w00t!

Get another engine 1994-95 3.8L V6s had head gasket issues. with 120K it won't be long

Zaggeron 08-01-2010 04:16 PM

It should have a 1.6L turbo given its an XR2 -- It's a Mazda engine -- the car was from Ford Australia badged as a Mercury for the North American market.
