I'm gonna try. The track I'm going to isn't as good as the other one though. It's a lot closer and my friends weren't willing to go to the other one. Did a 13.4 last time (with exhaust) when it was 100+ degrees outside so I'm hoping to break into the 12's with the intakes and exhaust. It's been around 60-70 degrees here in MD lately.

It would be! I think aiming for high 12's right now is still a bit optimistic. If I can do it though, mid-high 12's would be possible with ART Pipes/HFC's, tune, and some better tires.

b1adesofcha0s 09-06-2011 04:47 PM

Z elim's best time was a 12.42 though. My car will have no where near the amount of mods he has so I doubt I could do mid range 12. Maybe 12.7-12.8 at best if I get lucky again, but that would still be awesome.

Red__Zed 09-06-2011 04:54 PM

I think you'd be pretty lucky to replicate your time, but we will see

I kind of think that too a little bit.. My other times from that day were in the low 13's. How much of a difference do you think intakes + exhaust will make? Saw a 0.1 sec decrease in time from stock to just exhaust and this was in hot weather. Would it be unrealistic to assume intakes + exhaust + cooler temps would give me 0.2 sec or more decrease based on my average times from that first day?

Isamu 09-06-2011 07:21 PM

bolt-ons are really hard to judge. You'd be doing really well to pick up 2/10ths.

Guess we'll find out once I actually go out. Important to remember that Capitol Raceway, which is where I'm going now, has worse track prep than where I went the first time, Cecil County Dragway. Was consistently launching like 0.1 sec quicker there.

track prep shouldn't be that important, you'll just have to adjust your launch.

Bad prep can actually be helpful with cars like the Z that are low on torque.

You gotta remember though, as a businessman trying to push a product, it doesn't matter what you think, it matters what the consumer thinks. :ugh2:

If you decide to delete them, you'll have to get jamaica to delete the quoted ones as well.

Shumbz, as an oil worker, do you think it's worth it to go to NoDak for a year and work on the wells there for say 80k?

Chris to "launch" the 7AT I hold my foot on the brake, press on the gas and hold it at the desired rpm, let go of brake and floor it.

I tried adjusting my launch and even lowering tire pressure a bit but it didn't help. Was getting 1.9-2.0 range 60 ft times at Cecil and 2.0-2.2 at Capital.

Isamu, I want to go to an actual road course too. I will definitely like it better than drag racing, but it is more expensive and will require some prep mods (brake pads, brake fluid, oil cooler). Aiming to go in the spring
