Windows 7
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but i just switched my laptop over to Windows 7 and its absolutely amazing. It is so streamlined, and has everything Vista didn't have and none of the problems that people associate Vista with. not to mention its a few GB smaller than Vista Ultimate.
But this post is for humor not for information, so I thought of this pic I had saved on my desktop and it seemed relevant, and will hopefully bring a smile to your face. :D http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...619766e6-1.png Edit: Can't get the damn thing to scale so here's the link to it. http://weblog.sinteur.com/2008/10/wi...-new-editions/ |
As a computer guy I will not jump on the Vista v. other OS stuff. But I will agree that Win7 is going to be a nice update to the Windows OS line (even though I enjoy Vista). There are going to be a few versions, as Vista had, but a couple are not going to be sold in the US or other major countries. They have two that are aimed at low cost for developing nations, and another for a specific version. So while I can say there are six or seven Win7 being produced, only four or five will be in the states.
*Note: Not counting the thousand different illegal versions. ;) |
"Windows 7 Pirated Edition" looks nice...........hahahahah

Hell naw!
I do not trust new microsoft stuff. Wait it out for a year then I'll try it. Windows XP Professional until then. [: |

How is it though? Any bugs or lag? |
Nope its perfect. Like I said before, everything Vista didn't have and none of the problems it did have.

Currently it is in Beta form so there are still some problems. When I ran it for a couple of weeks, waiting for the next build to be released, I had a few problems some specific programs and one drive. Other than that everything that works in Vista will most likely work in Win7. Also, the reason I had issue with programs was because they went against changes in Win7, like the new taskbar and such. Current test show it loads a bit faster than Vista in some instances, they re-did superfetch, UAC has been overhauled, and other things. If I can find the list of major changes I will post it. |
^^^Yeah I think the next release available will be in August. I was amazed at the compatibility factor with software. Pretty much everything that I've installed that I had with Vista ultimate loads with no problem.
BUT again I wasn't posting this thread to inform or debate, I was just reminded of that goofy fake Ad for Win 7 :D |

Kidding, I have owned two iPhones and almost bought the gen 2 Macbook Air. |
I like "Slight Downpour Lynx". :icon14:

Win 7 is very nice and runs smoothly even on older boxes. I have been in the IT field since 1985, and this is the smoothest OS I have seen in a while. Blows Vista out the door.

Vista did it in for me ... bough a macbook and have been pretty happy, minor gripes aside.
