I previously had an iphone through my employer; now have a Droid Incredible. I greatly prefer the Droid.

So I posted my message 3 days ago and I come back in here and I see I stirred up the hornets nest a little with you Apple and/or iPhone guys. Not to bring it all back up, but I feel I should reply to some of the posts after mine.

First, someone mentioned about their stock and how well it's doing. I never stated anything regarding the present. I stated that at some point, that it would change. It may not be tomorrow or next year, but merely at some point it would.

Regarding the change of data plans, with 4G and LTE around the corner...the "no more unlimited data plans" is going to be standardized across the board. This is to be expected, so it shouldn't be big news whether ATT or Verizon is doing it. This has nothing to do with my original comment, just wanted share my thoughts on that post.

Regarding iTunes, one of the biggest reasons I chose not to use it is because of the bitrates used. This is discussed over in another thread somewhere on MP3's or something, so I rehash those comments.

Lastly, someone mentioned about putting crappy Chinese made video cards and it !@#$ING up the device or something along those lines, as an example. Do remember that the iPhone is currently made by Foxconn in China, and this is the plant where people have been committing suicide like crazy so that we can all enjoy our lovely devices! Now to stray off-topic a bit, but this why I can't stand it when people complain about phone prices, or whether they have to pay full-price because they are still under contract. Our phones are no longer phones anymore. They are multi-tasking devices, do it all devices, camera, camcorder, etc, etc. and they cost money. And the labor associated with them is ridiculously cheap. I can't imagine if most of these smartphones where made in the U.S. what the cost would be then.

This is typically always the response from iPhone users when someone hates on the phone; they get totally defensive and irritated that someone could diss it. I believe you're not truly understanding what I'm trying to convey in my comment on that, or simply not fully reading my statement. What you quoted, that's not what I stated at all. You are merely misinterpreted my dialog.

I'm not defensive nor do I have ESP, I can only interpret what you write. It's a pretty simple concept. What you posted was vague and meaningless. I have included an example so that you can use it to base your posts on in the future.

I get a federal employee discount of 15%. I pay around $65. That is for the 450 minute plan, 200 texts and 2gb of data. Really a fair price imo.

I d/l'd it late last night. I have the 3G so there isn't much to be desired really. I read that alot of ppl had problems installing it. It was smooth sailing for me. For whatever reason my wireless connection didn't want to download it on my computer so I just ran a wire to my router and it d/l'd w/ no problem then. I'd say the whole d/l + install took about an hour. I was very shocked that it took so long. But once it was all done I went through and no big features really stood out. Unified mailbox seem ok but I was baffled as to why I couldn't changed the Home screen wallpaper. That seemed like that should have been included for the 3G but I guess not. The zoom feature for the camera is a joke. I didn't really bother too much w/ that. Oh well, bring on my new iPhone 4.

I downloaded it too. I didn't really want to lose my jailbreak, but since I have the 4 on order I figured I should start learning about the new features. I already miss the SBS settings. I read somewhere that the 3G wasn't able to render all of the icons as well as the homescreen wallpaper properly. Overall it seems pretty nice, but it's taking some time to get used to it.

I tried the droid x and was not impressed with the lag of it and the motoblur interface. I am sticking with my incredible.

Battery drain isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Not as great as the first Moto Droid, but better in other ways make it worth the switch.

Btw... if anyone is looking to switch carriers or is due for an upgrade and renewal send me a message. I can get better than in store pricing on any phone currently except the iphone.

Yup, same here. I love my incredible. The thing is just blazing fast and I rarely get any type of lag. My dad and brother have the original droid and it just doesn't compare. HTC FTW.

For those who hate the "add on" home screens and such, you can disable those.
When a program asks to be the default for something, it is the same with the home screen program. I forget where the setting is but you can go in and say no default, then when you hit home again it will ask. :tup:
