I Sold Everything To Buy A Lamborghini And Drive Across The Country

Richard Jordan had everything he was told to want: cars, a new house, and a fiancee. Then his fiancee left him. So he sold everything, bought a Lamborghini Gallardo and set out across America. This is his amazing story.

that is AWESOME... sounds like the makings for a great movie. there was a book by Gary Paulsen back in the day called "The Car" that i read in high school. slightly different story but same principle. kid comes home from school one day, 2 messages on the answering machine: one from his dad saying he's leaving, the other from the mom saying she's leaving. he sits at home for a few days bored with nobody around. decides to finish his dad's build-it-yourself cobra and takes off across the country to find relatives. calamity ensues and turns out to be a great coming-of-age story

He talks about that at the end, blown engine with a nice paper weight.

I’m so tempted to do the same... Only I would go across Europe :D
Great story

Any of you guys read Ghost Rider, by Neil Pearl(drummer from rush)? He went on a journey across North America on his Motorcycle after the death of both his daughter and wife.

"He's using his sudden lack of transportation not as the end of one journey but as the start of a new one, setting up a shop in Dallas where he plans to build custom motorcycles and superbikes. He has plans to repair the engine or swap in a new one once he can afford it, but for now it makes an interesting sculpture to show friends and prospective customers in the main room of his new office. Richard's also met a girl, but he's trying to take it one step at a time."

:iagree:

I have actually always wanted to do this, and plan to. I think the same way, what is life if you're not living. It seems like everyone around me just works to live, lives to work. What's crazy about it is that most people seem content with this idea.

Now I understand when you have kid's, things are different. I don't have kids, and I don't have a spouse. I have to do it, that's how I feel in my mind.......

EXACTLY. I can’t stand it. Everyone’s caught up in the day-to-day artificial superficial materialistic world(it's hard not to be). It makes you lose sight of what is most important in life-you and your self-happiness. But no one really see’s it. They’re buried in that media, politics, money, diamonds, celebs,WORK,tv,relationships, etc.
Through travel, I have found that it’s different in the states. Europe seems more relaxed about everything. (ex.some places in the US they are pushing to extend the work week, when in Europe countries are trying to shorten it).
I'm looking to at least rent a Gallardo. :D
