Lexus F-Sport Event at New Jersey Motorsports Park April 29th 2010

Lexus hosted this awesome event today at NJMP where they gave us Lexus IS-Fs and various other Sport optioned Lexus models to drive in a Auto-X track. They also gave us a HOT Lap by a Professional driver in a IS-F. It was an awesome event. Weather was a bit windy but temperature was perfect (in 60s all day).

Here are some pictures from the event. I was so busy driving, I really didn't take too many pics :o.

Auto-X area.

They did not let me use my GO HD which I don't know why. The people at the registration told me it shouldn't be a problem but at the Auto-X they said No camera. Other people brought GO PRO HD camera as well but couldn't use it. :(

I loved the IS-F exhaust. It sounded really really good (at least from the inside). I wasn't too happy with the way it handled on the Auto-X track. I guess after all it's a FWD. So, in one of the run I kinda "went all out" :driving: and I was told to take it easy  by the track professional.

You fill out the survey at the end here and go home with a LFA t-shirt.

It's a beautiful car. I love the side and rear area. oh and the exhaust = straight race car  . I wasn't lucky enough for the Hot lap in the LFA (only 4 from each session) But I got two Hop Laps with professional drivers in the IS-F :happydance: I think "onethreefive" or "alefcole" can give you their impression on the LFA.

I have to thank Lexus for giving us this great event. Now that they are making supercars and what not, this is great way to let people test the product. Heck, I even looked up tons of Youtube videos on IS-F tonight.

I stand corrected. :tiphat: wow.. I thought it was a FWD. Well, that means, it needs better suspension/tires. Grip in auto-x wasn't too good :ugh2:

That IS-F is nice! Wish I had the money.

Too much weight on the front wheels, too much motor? How did you guys wind up getting the gig?

It was an open registration. People came from Delaware, Philly, even Chicago!

You're probably right. I guess I'm used to Z handling :driving:. But I must say, acceleration was GREAT! I couldn't even open up the IS-F because of the smaller track layout. Also the car didn't feel heavy at all. If I was in a market for a 50K four door sedan, I'd probably rock it!

This is my opinion on the lexus LFA. Think about an ISF and multiply it by 10, get inside an M3 and multiply it by 8 or get inside a current generation Porsche 911 turbo and multiply it by 3. Thats how crazy it feels in the track. I have never been inside a Ferrari or Lambo to know how does it compare against those mean machines. I am anxiously waiting for top gear to drive this car.

I was one of the lucky ones selected for this. A hot lap inside the lexus LFA (the only one in North America) being driven by Scott Pruett.

This is the best that I can describe the experience, the grip is unbelievable, the power is in the limit of what most human beings are able to handle, the exhaust note was super mean on the outside, but actually refined on the inside, the brakes well let me tell you about the brakes:

I step inside the car and introduce myself to Scott. I asked him about the brakes, and if carbon ceramic brakes were worth it for this car (of course i was joking) and he just said: "Well let me show you".

I knew that with all this power to weight ratio I better had a good grip. The bucket seats were supportive, but I made sure I was grabbing the door handle as well. I pushed my left knee towards the center console and my right foot tight against the floor. I could feel all my back pushing against the seat and I was holding my head really, but really tight. And all this preparation was just before the lunch. When he took off I felt the expected 550HP pushing my organs towards the back, but again I was planning to go no where, i told my self that I was not gonna move. The first right turn came and I could feel all the G's trying to throw me to the left side. But then it happen: He pushed hard on the brakes and I saw my brain taking off and bouncing 20 feet in front of the hood. Yes, this monster is so light that brakes that hard, corners like an indy car (according to scott) and only a few in this world will be able to afford it at $375K. But, are the carbon ceramic brakes worth it? YOU BET!!!!!!!!

For those of you that have been at New Jersey Motorsport Park Lightning track; this car takes the last U turn at 101mph and has an exit speed of 110 mph.. Of course this was Scott Pruett in this super car.

Thanks for reading.

You Liar, I know which car you will get if you will be looking for a 50K sedan, and that car my friend will be a close image of what I am getting :driving:. LOL

And by the way, I agree with some, the GTR can take this car anytime .
