I believe so. The more populated an area the more merchandise will be distributed. Supply and demand kinda thing.

I just don't wanna pre-order, then walk in there and they're sold out.

I know it costs no extra. It just seems foolish to me to pay now for a game I won't see for months to come. And the game industry makes extra, because they can store that dough and make interest on it in the intermediary months.

To each their own, but there are no games that are so important that I need to have them right away, and so badly that I'm gonna put money down months in advance.

Part of the purpose of selling perorders is so the merchandise can be distributed more logically. It's very rare for a game to sell out completely in big markets, but the store may send more to a smaller market if the had a lot of preorders.

I have both systems and sorry man but the PSN sucks. Hence the reason it was shut down for two months due to it's poor security.

Uhhhhh, first of all it wasnt 2 months. Second, Live shut down for 11 days due to the same reasons before. I game heavily, way more than I should, prob more than all of you and like I told Fullmonty, my XBOX hasnt been turned on in over a year. The terrible controller and childish menu screens are more than enough to keep me away. I mean when I turn it on im greeted by cartoon characters. I feel like im about to learn my ABC's. Ugh I could go on forever.

I didn't know that XBL was shut down for the same reason. So I did some research and it said it was shut down for just 2 days not 11 and that was the longest downtime recorded since launch. Speeds compared on both systems when it comes to launching or finding a match, well XBL blows PSN out of the water. Graphics and details are much better on XBOX. The customer service is impecable with Microsoft any time I had a complaint they always took care of the problem and would send points my way. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the poll on top of this thread for a XBL clan tag.

this is a bunch of fan boi nonsense.. my launch times are just as fast on PSN, and XBL was down for 13 days at one point..and its been down more then once, PSN was not down 2 months... lol secondly it took them how long to hack the BluRay, and PSN? years, it took them 2 months to hack the box...
that's the only reason XboX has been safe, because they kept updating there ****, which was bad on Sony's part, but still, their security was pretty tight to even begin with.

ok, because it sucks and it had sucky security... 2 different reason.. and it wasn't 2 months. and it wasn't sucky security... if it had been that, it would have been hacked within 2 months like the sexbox the only REAL difference I see between the 2... Voice Chat... which i could give two shiz about.. I play both systems... my PS3 gets a little more work, I like the way the controller feels in my hands... its just a better designed controller for sure

Fail rates this is my 3rd Playstation I've had to get replaced due to faulty core or software issue straight out the box. Ive only had one circle of death a years ago and I had that console for atleast 3. So let's be real you download a movie on PSN and I'll do the same and guess who will be kicking back eating popcorn chillen while your still at 50% aaaaaaaand counting. I actually sold my box to get the PS but I was let down. All it's good for is a blue ray player.

ok, your fail rate doesn't equate to ACTUAL trends... there was an admitted 25-30% failure rate for xbox... ps3 is sitting at around 2% which is still below the average for consumer electronics...
I had a launch day xbox last me till last year... so I was a lucky one, but I know first had a few guys in my shop that went through 3 or 4..
I downloaded 2 games of > 2GBs as fast as I would on my computer...
and streaming.. while yes, it has to do with the software somewhat, it also has to do with your internet connection... I have watched plenty of movies on my PS3 without lag or interruptions, I can say the same for my XBL...
as for game play, in my personal case, both are the same.. only XBL has voice chat, which.... i never use... so.. to me, they are the same

Graphics and details better on xbox?? Wrong. Plus I hate the arguement that your online is sooo great. You PAY for it, it better be good. As for PSN I get occasional lag but I get that on my xbox that I PAY for as well. I dont wanna send this thread downhill and turn it into a pissing contest though, so ill shut up :)

I have both and all I can say is that I did it for exclusives like Halo and God of War. But if it's a choice of which system to get a game for I get Xbox. I know more people that have the xbox and find it more enjoyable playing with people I know.

Whether it's on PS3, XBOX360, or good ol' PC, Call of Duty is good times.

Well yea cause microsoft pays big $$ for exclusive dlc. I mean look what they did w the last GTA. It was a ps exclusive, then microsoft got it and I forget how much they paid to have the dlc that ps didnt get. Honestly id play my xbox a lot more if the controller didnt suck SO BAD!! I know you xboxers love it but I think its the worst! Oh one more arguement for ps, Gran Turismo kills Forza!

I'm too lazy to mess with computer settings and keyboard hotkeys to play on a PC. I'm sure the graphics are better and the price is lower most the time.

I'm not big on DLC, so I could care less about that. If I can get it, I can get it.

I own all three: a PS3, an Xbox, and a PC I like the xbox controller as much as the ps3 controller, but the ps3 controller is actually harder on my hands.

Having played every Gran Turismo and every Forza, I can't honestly say that GT is better by much, if at all. There are some things that it does better, and some things that Forza does better.

They have gaming controllers. Even joysticks.
